Don't think the anti-cheat is active. Supposedly uses BattlEye yet is more infested with cheaters than CS:GO

Can't play the game properly. Game is linked directly to steam (since I bought it here) and gives me key is already in use error.

Only allowed demo time apparently and can't use models. 10/10

Game is absolutely awful.

For context, I love fighting games. I've been playing them almost my entire life and I adored smash.
I have quite a lot of experience when it comes to this specific genre and this specific type of game but this is a joke.

First off, hit priority. Seemingly doesn't exist. You can do an air down heavy with a hammer and be beaten by an up heavy of someone without a weapon.

Dodge, dodge spam everywhere. This game is 80% who can spam dodge the most and 20% heavy spam.

Balance, pfft. There isn't any. Prominant characters for climbing in ranked or stomping pubmatches all revolve around spamming heavy attacks, usually with a lance or hammer. Not to mention their heavy attacks (especially lance characters) have ridiculous range and are inherent dashes. (Bit too much damage and utility there)

Only positive I can draw from this game is hero diversity and even that is a stretch since there are heros with the same weapons as eachother, and for the intensive purpose of diversity, also do pretty much the same moves with slight variance

So my first review of any game I've bought on steam and I chose this one. Why you ask? Well because this one has so much to talk about (a lot of negatives but they could be fixed).

So lets get started, I have not played the single player due to falling out of reach with the single player in CoD because I felt it lacked any worth at all. People primarily buy this for multiplayer so the single player feels tacked on pointlessly.

Zombies: Couldn't tell you a single thing since the last time I tried to play it, and the 3 times before, it bloody crashed after a couple of rounds. And no, this isn't anything to do with my PC. Just a general thing that happens to some people.

Now down to the gritty stuff, Multiplayer.

Positives:
  • When you're not getting your arse pounded by the infinte amout of tryhards it is fun as hell!!
  • The games movement is quite refressing to the older CoD player but not as obnoxious as the AW movement so they did good here.
  • The amount of content from launch and for free through updates is out-standing for the price of the game.
  • Most guns are viable for use.
  • Back to the classic three lane style of maps that CoD oh so dearly missed in AW.
  • Supply drops are actually cool and feel worth it sometimes (Unless you get a bloody taunt like I do everytime).

    Negatives:
    • It quite plainly runs like ♥♥♥♥ for a AAA title when it really shouldn't since 3arc have a "dedicated" PC development team (My arse).
    • Mouse acceleration is still an option, stop this. No one on PC uses this. Stop porting from console. Build on PC first you plebs! You design it on a PC!!
    • Theatre still doesn't work fully on PC just like in BO1 and BO2.
    • The hit detection is complete garbage. Might as well not be shooting sometimes.
    • Everyone uses the Vesper, Drakon or 205 Brecci. Each extremely annoying to die to since the Vesper will insta-kill you, the Drakon will just spray you down from a range you can't really fight back at and the 205 Brecci will just be up in your face ripping it apart time after time.
    • The Safeguard gamemode sucks.
    • Nuketown is back, again.
    • Since the removal of toughness from the Black Ops series the flinch is almost unbareable for us PC players, especially when using a sniper (Which I do most of the time).
    • If you pull away from the pack on the scoreboard you will almost defintely be called a hacker (Could be a positive if you get a kick from it).
    • This is a casual game for me but I need to try my heart out to keep up with these people especially when I use the sniper.

Now that all that is over with, my final opinions.
Should you buy this game? If you're a fan of the franchise, yes. If you're looking to play casually and not sweat buckets every game, no. This series has derived from the greatness it once was to a steaming pile of sweat and putrid mess. The developers don't balance anything in mind for the PC players, the patches often make things worse and whilst I would love to play this on console to play the fully working version. I just can't bring myself to spend another £40 on this. Treyarch have potentially the last of my money that will ever go into this franchise and I hope they can convince me to stay.
