It seems almost all the negative reviews have to do with performance, which is unfortunately because the game itself is pretty dang good and unique. If you've played previous Arkane games like Dishonored or Prey then you know what you're getting into. Just buy it. If your PC can't run it then return it.

As a fan of Dishonored games, I had high hopes for this game and was not disappointed. Arkane have built another great world of systems and game mechanics, then filled it with a wide variety of interesting stories and objectives and let you figure out how you want to take them on.

My favourite part was reading through the emails of the people who lived/worked on the space station, learning about their relationships and getting to know them, all while piecing together what happened in the final moments before disaster, and finding clues to help solve objectives too.

If you've played other VR games or Skyrim before, Skyrim VR will feel incredibly unintuitive, awkward, and clunky. I realize VR wasn't even a thing when it came out so there's only so much they could do, but this is borderline unplayable. It feels like an experimental third-party mod and at most should be a paid add-on, not a full price standalone game.

I've looked into mods to help improve the experience, and I have to commend the modders for what they've been able to do with it, but it's still not enough to make me want to play it. You're much better off playing one of the many VR RPGs made by small indie studios than giving Bethesda any money for this obvious cash-grab.

10/10 Literally punched myself in the face trying to get a headcrab off.

Edit: Playing through again on an Index and I have to say this game is gorgeous. Screenshots and videos don't do it justice.

It reminds of the old moonlander games, but with objectives and puzzles to solve while still trying not to explode. The graphics are great, watching the plants burn away is very satisfying and the lighting gives it a nice sense of depth for a 2D game. But what I appreciate the most is how tight the controls are, because this game is CHALLENGING. I died a lot, but I always felt it was my fault for being too hasty rather than a fault of the game.

Overall, this is a really well made game, definitely a hidden gem worth checking out for how cheap it is.

Early Access Review
At first I was kind of frustrated with this game's difficulty; the hard resets made me feel like I wasn't getting anywhere. I would rush through in an attempt to get as far as I did last time, only to die to a trash enemy or a falling rock. But after a while I realized this is a game of patience and discovery more than straight progression. The fun comes from experimenting with different wands and spells, spending an hour in the "safe"zone/shop crafting the perfect wand to annihilate all who stand against you, then firing that wand for the first time and instantly killing yourself in a glorious blast of saw blades and lightning.

This game has a little something for everyone and doesn't seem to force you down any specific path. The combat is fast and fun, so if you feel like grinding, PVP, Guild Wars, and taking on world bosses, you can. But if you're not into that, there's a lot of options for gathering, fishing, crafting, marketplace, and resource management.

Overall, it's a very deep and well made MMO. It can be a little daunting at first because there's so much stuff, but you don't NEED to know everything about this game right away, just take your time and enjoy it and things will become clearer as you progress.

Very fun and easy to play; There's a ton of modifiers and game modes to keep things interesting for people just looking to have some fun, but also has competitive modes with a surprisingly high skill cap if you're looking for a challenge.

I can't get enough of Rocket League.
