This is a little long winded so TL;DR: if you enjoy blowing up big robots with a big (or maybe small) robot of your own, this game probably has something that will pique your interest. The learning curve is kinda steep but the community is usually friendly and can help if you ask questions. Plus, it's free, y'know?

This game is honestly amazing. I've been playing it for a few years now and I've never *really* had a bad experience. I will preface this review by saying the game definitely isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea and it has a pretty steep learning curve. First and foremost, this game has one of the best communities I've ever seen in a competitive online game. You will definitely meet toxic players who blame everyone else for their death, but you find those in every game. 99.9% of the time everyone is super friendly and understanding. Like I said before, there is a very steep learning curve, but once you understand the basics of movement/positioning, heat management and spreading damage out, the rest comes fairly naturally. There is quite literally a mech for everyone. No matter your playstyle, whether you want to be sneaky and harass the enemies in a small, highly maneuverable mech or you wanna be on the frontlines brawling it out in a heavily armored, heavily armed tank of a mech, there will be a build out there for you. There are some paywalls, but they *barely* effect gameplay. For example, you have limited mech bays, meaning you can only own a limited number of mechs that are always available to you, and said mech bays cost premium currency to unlock. *But*, there are frequently events that can not only give you the premium currency itself (which is useful for other things) but sometimes mech bays and even mechs themselves (with a bay included) and even when there aren't events going on, they give you 4 mechs under each weight category to play as, that rotate every so often giving you an opportunity to try different setups at no cost. Getting the main currency can be a bit of a grind sometimes, but if you just play, you'll get where you need to be. If I had to give this game a number rating, it'd be 8.5/10. It has a couple quirks, but it's good fun.

A little buggy, but the bugs arent THAT bad, the fighting can be a little monotonous but the sheer amount of ♥♥♥♥ you can do in fights makes up for it. Story is kinda goody, but Im having a good time in it. I havent beaten it yet just because I ran around completing a bunch of optional stuff.

I love it. I played the current version (chapter 1 I believe) start to finish in one sitting over the course of roughly 2 and a half hours. It was 2 and a half hours well spent. I cant wait to see what else they add.

All the time I have in this game was on a free weekend a while back. The first time I launched the game, I played it for 15 hours straight, because it was that good. (Edited to add that I had 28 hours in this game, so Im not sure why it says ~12) I absolutely loved it. Now conveniently its on sale the day before my birthday and ends the day after. Too bad Im a broke man, otherwise I'd treat myself to this game as a birthday present and it would be $30 well spent. Cant wait to finish this game someday.

Pretty entertaining to be honest. But if you want to play, be prepared for unfair ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. When I say unfair ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I mean ♥♥♥♥ like shooting someone in the head 6 times then having them kill you in 2, or instantly being killed by a zombie even though you hit people 3 times and dont kill them, or getting your neck snapped by 173 from 5 ft away and then having someone pretty much walk through you and you cant snap their neck. Im currently playing while writing this review and about 60 seconds ago, I shot a scientist probably about 20 times with the logicar and he shot me literally two times. I lost 42% health from 2 bullets, but he was just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sponge. This is a pretty regular occurence in this game. Other than these inexplicable differences between damage dealt and damage recieved, it is an enjoyable experience. Unless you get stuck in an elevator, thats pretty boring.

Oh and sometimes you can join a game when it is in the beginning phase of "Players connecting", not spawn with everyone else, spectate for 15 minutes, see MTF spawn but again not spawn with them and continue to spectate. Basically, you can spend an entire match from beginning to end without actually playing.

I know this probably doesnt seem like a good review, but it is actually pretty fun when you arent getting ♥♥♥♥ on by the game itself.

Black Ops and Black Ops II are significantly better

For the guy being sarcastic, this game is like BO2 and AW had a disfigured child, tried to set it on fire to get rid of it, and when it didnt work, put it up for sale.

It may be free to play now, but Im 99% sure I payed like $2 for this game a few years back, and with that being said, I will begin my review.

This game is literal ♥♥♥♥. First off, I attempted to play *eight* games. I lost connection before even loading in on six of those. That was in solo. You cant even do duo/squad unless you have friends who want to play this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game with you. Many things that happen in the game make zero sense. For example: I had a weapon called the "corpse grinder" which is a big minigun basically. Full HP, about 870 points left on my armor. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ walks up some stairs with an AK12 (which I looked, and does the same damage as the corpse grinder) and I start firing at him like Im ♥♥♥♥♥♥ rambo, getting about 6 hits. He fires a literal two bullets (pop pop) and I drop like a sack of potatoes, but guess what? He has 400 something points of armor left and 85% HP (and yes I am aware he may have healed). Same area, I found a sniper rifle (dont remember its name) and shot some guy right in the mouth with it. It did *maybe* 30% of his HP, even though its a sniper rifle and I got a headshot. Oh and if you want to shoot over the top of a wall or crate or something, good luck because the invisble walls around the edges of some of the objects are WAY too big for the object. There are a few more things I could complain about, but at this point Im just getting lazy.

TL;DR This game is about as good as a dumpster fire that someone tried to put out with sewer water and failed.

I grabbed this game when it was a freebie for a couple days and I gotta say, I would pay $30 for it. Ive already put 30 hours into this game and have barely made a dent. It can be difficult and occasionally a little buggy, but even with that being said, it is a phenomenal space RPG (I dont praise games often) with both a campaign and a freeroam mode. Im more of a freeroam kinda guy (y'know fly around, explore, complete 'events' such as assassinations, rescues, smuggling runs) and in the 30 hours I've played, I've only explored maybe a third of the map. Maybe. Besides about an hour that Ive put into campaign, the rest of my time is in freeroam and I just upgraded to a larger ship with more firepower/shields/health. Some people may think thats too long, but it was time well spent and it most certainly wasnt boring trying to farm the money and experience I needed to be able to purchase the ship.

Long story short, if you have the expendable income and you like space, you should give this game a go :)
