First half was chill, than turns into a mystery... and... probably something you'll have to find out yourself.

Short game, but it feels more "souls-like" compared to some others.

Slight different style of combat mechanics and different approach when it comes to weapons abilities.

It's almost encouraged to switch your setup to try a different approach or to learn mechanics.

World felt a bit more immersive then other games, but some aspects can be annoying. If you're just trying to run through everything.

I wouldn't agree with others calling it a souls game. Feels more like a third person version of Borderlands, or Gears of War without the cover element and worse guns.

So far, the bosses I've encountered just spawn what seems like an endless amount of enemies. Some parts just become a straight shootout, or you gotta deal with status ailments like no other. Does that make the game difficult? No, that's just being annoying.

Your enemy's hit range can throw you off because of your hitbox, but it's more noticeable when you're trying to dodge to the side or back away. However, I've noticed that you get hit less if you just dodge forward.

I might update this the more I play, but so far this game being considered "souls-like" is throwing me off.

So, it seems like it'll take a lot of effort to do an melee only run. Also seems unnecessary as most enemies have close and long range attacks. Easy to dodge most of their long range attacks though.

Starting weapons seem to be the worst ones until you can get boss weapons. They're like night and day in damage and effects. Even the built-in mod is better.

Some maps have like empty areas, unless they're different depending on the RNG aspect and might contain an item on the next re-roll.

Some bosses I have yet to figure out how to melee attack, so I just ended up shooting. Adventure mode kinda helps avoid doing a new game plus run, which in a way you can already do by re-rolling the Campaign.

... I dunno how this game is using 5GB of Memory... Guess it slowly creeps up if you leave it on all day? I dunno, not that much of a concern.

Very basic idling game otherwise.

Edit: No idea how it's using 10GB of Memory.
Edit 2: As long as you don't do any quests there's no memory leaks.

Takes awhile to get used to the controls and a bit longer to design a ship that suits your play style.

Only time my PC really lagged was when I was playing around with the evolution AI at higher speeds or if I alt-tabbed.

Speedrunability – 1/10, almost impossible, only at some points can you save time, but you can skip cutscenes and there’s a lot.

Achievement Hunting Difficulty – 6/10, all achievements can be done solo and would require more then one play through.

Game Difficulty – 7/10 if this is your first “souls-like” game and you even get a companion, which makes the game not as difficult. If you really wanted to make it more difficult. You’d have to get rid of your companion and play at level 1 with the starting weapon. Otherwise, it’s like a 4/10 for veterans of this game type.

Story – 6/10 – I don’t really play games for story and this one especially is fairly predictable, especially if you’re familiar with anime/mangas.

Level Design – 6/10 – Some maps are well designed and some are just headaches that just break immersion. Some transition points between maps just seem unnecessary… such as climbing down a 20ft ladder, walk 6 steps just to climb up a 30ft ladder. Some parts of the map are just there for appeal with no functionality.

Character Design – 7/10 – Could do with more character customization, but otherwise it’s acceptable. Also, if you’re familiar with anime/manga… you can get a rough estimate of predictable support characters.

AI – 6/10 – Enemies are pretty predictable with their attacks and can’t do much about your companion’s AI. You’re not really supposed to depend on them. The only thing that makes them difficult is that some have an “activation” animation where you can’t hurt them, or when they just spot you.

Gameplay – 7/10 – It’s more or less an anime themed dark souls with flashy attacks.
