Xcom player here - Battlesector has filled the void that the deletion of Xcom 2's multiplayer had. The multiplayer V.S. mode is awesome in battlesector and crafting an army to use against a friend is just awesome. The game is crazy in depth and pretty faithful to actual warhammer. And as someone who wants to get into warhammer but is too broke to do so, this game is great. Having a map builder is a plus too. My personal gripes is that the story mode doesn't really engage me too much, fun gameplay, but the story is a bit boring, and having such expensive DLC factions hurts me inside. A solid 7-8/10, wait for it to go on sale :)

doo-doo ass dlc, such a weird theme for xcom 2 to add, and such weak cosmetic choices. Wish we got a different theme or just, straight up better cosmetics. honestly save your money and avoid the clutter this dlc adds. Mods can add such better cosmetics for FREE

Love the Alien Hunters DLC, but i understand the hate. Reaction mechanic can feel like game breaking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that ruins the run entirely cause the Berserker queen decided to just one shot someone on my squad. Or the Archon decided to use the missiles that CAN GUARANTEE a hit on one of my guys... With that said tho, they can be prepared for, and annihilated with little resistance if you bring the right squad. I find the blademaster perk works wonders along with stasis or freeze abilities or anything that stuns or disorientates them. Also, the gear alongside this DLC rules. While not super overpowered in my eyes, it's really fun have a handheld ballista lmfao. Be careful with these guys and treat them with the respect they deserve on the map, cause if you disregard the rules these guys set, you will be punished for it.

As someone who has played 600 Hours before attempting an iron man run -

The Chosen - EXTREMELY fun additions, they make you think painfully hard about your next move trying to escape with your life as they like to remain passive throughout the mission and act as support until either spotted or all other advent forces are defeated. They can feel kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at times by basically trapping a soldier and guaranteeing his death, but that's usually a skill issue or just xcom baby. Chosen strongholds are honestly, extremely fun to invade because usually by the time you do, you've well got the resources and leveled troops to stomp them pretty hard. On top of them being fun challenges and personality added to advent forces, their rewards for defeating them are top tier... Do your best not to lose them as the buffs are stupid insane and can change the course of a mission entirely.

Reapers, Skirmishers, and Templars - I LOVE THESE CLASSES SO MUCH. Every-time i start a new run, one of these guys is my main "Hero" for the campaign. They are good classes that even start off damn strong, but aren't invincible. I know good xcom players love to rely on reapers for recon and scouting up ahead, but i just love shoving templars and skirmishers down advents throat with 2 shots per turn or invincibility after getting a damn good hit on an alien. Love how varied each one of these soldiers are as none of them even really feel close to xcoms base classes. Just feels like they made xcoms base classes, even more specialized and doubled down on some of the features already in base game.

The Lost - Xcom's spin on zombies... Loads of fun, the "Headshot" mechanic that refunds actions for shooting a lost is amazing, it can be kind of stressful having 15 or more lost chasing your squad of 4 rookies or so. Some things i wish i could change is, i wish i could refund melee attacks against them if the lost are already on one of my soldiers... Just makes a bit of sense to be able to slap one of them for getting too hungry. And also, the lost corpses just seem absolutely useless, i know there's a mod to be able to sell them but that just feels too overpowered by the sheer amount of lost that show up sometimes. I've had countless lost and advent double encounters where the kill count is 45+ on average. Even in the early game. Wish there was something more to do with the corpses. Overall, a pretty balanced edition, just wish their targeting made more sense sometimes as the lost seem to just run by advent forces sometimes despite being shot at countless times by them.

Campaign Structure - Honestly, the one thing i'm not a fan of in the DLC is the campaign structure. Mostly because it seems to not play too nicely with the Alien Hunter's DLC and Shen's Last Gift as when i choose to use the integrated content feature for these DLC's which advertises a smoother experience between wotc and the other DLC's, it just doesn't work. I have not once received the missions to invade the Alien Nest or Shen's mission for the SPARK. Only when i disabled "Integrated Content" and individually enabled the 2 DLC's did i receive the full content of the DLC's.

Modding - 10/10, the Xcom community is simultaneously the horniest, and coolest community i've ever seen. There's so many mods that just straight up add new classes, and fix prevalent bugs and problems with the game. And the cosmetic mods, while adding a decent amount of time to loading screens, make the game feel completely different at times. You can basically give the game a Halo reskin or a Star Wars reskin with mods, and so many more. The xcom modding scene is a god blessed gift upon this earth.

Soldier Bonds - A fun addition, makes customizing characters feel even more rewarding and funny... "Squaddie Joe Biden has Bonded with Colonel Scout "Jerma985" TF2"

Multiplayer - plz add back lol. I loved the multiplayer even tho it was unbalanced, could be very silly and fun. Well, here's to praying for a co-op campaign in the next main game.

Is XCOM 2: War of the Chosen Worth it? - I have to be inclined to say yes. While i am very stingy with buying games and DLC, it is worth the $40 Price Tag. BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN SPEND $40 ON IT. The Xcom 2 complete edition goes on sale for like $6 or something crazy like that. I beg of you, if you want an insanely fun tactical strategy game with good customization, please wait for it to go on sale lol
