Backed this game on patreon and it was well worth it. The team really cares and will listen to the community.

I want to start by saying I played this game to completion (in it's current state) and I thought this was amazing.
The charming old-school graphics, the scenery, the secrets littering every part of the game... I thought this was one of the best RPGs I have played in a loooooooong time. I want to thank the devs for the amazing experience, albeit relatively short at the moment. I can't wait to see how this game develops and wish nothing but the best for the devs.

Great game, can be pay to win BUT it only hurts yourself and doesn't effect pvp. A good analogy is imagine hacking to the top rank in a game and then you start playing the game without hacks. You can get to the top of the top but you will not have the skill/knowledge as if you did it yourself. PVP is scaled so it doesn't even effect pvp in the slightest no matter how much you pay. Greatest MMO I have ever played and it will steal my free time for years to come.

Well, here it is... The next installment of Half-Life. We have all been longing for another game in the Half-Life universe ever since 2007 when Episode 2 was released. Now in the year 2020 we finally can see if Valve still has what it takes, and they blew it out of the water. This game is a masterpiece in every sense. The world is the most immersive experience I have had in a game. Period. I love the subtle comedy they added and the narrative is so engaging. I haven't had this much fun in a VR game ever and I can't wait to finish the rest of the game so I can update my thoughts after. As someone who played the series as a child and now as an adult am playing this I can say it met all my expectations. This is like a childhood dream game to be in the Half-Life universe. I also have to say that the amount of interactability is insane. Almost every object in the world can be interacted with and it just blows my mind. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Valve and I hope they enable creators to mod the game to lengthen it's lifespan.

I have played this game more than any other game ever in my life since I was a kid. I would binge play off and on, with multiple accounts over the years (my actually played hours is closer to 15k) because I loved the game so much and held it so dear to me.
The cartoony graphics, fun and wacky gameplay, and actually high skill ceiling for some classes reeled me in.

I used to spend hours and hours on custom maps, becoming part of clans / server communities, and even tried to get into the more serious end of the competitive scene years ago. I have held my tongue for too long and must speak out against Valve and the shameful act of ignoring this wonderful community, so I am going to list my main complaints I have with the state of the game over the last 10 or so years...

1. Obviously the first issue I have is the bot epidemic. Tons of auto-pathing aimbot-wielding bots running around, spamming the chat, being racist and homophobic, and of course one shotting every one in the server unfortunate enough to be on the opposing team.

2. The game is reliant on constant balance updates to stay fresh and fun. I remember back in 2012 and earlier you would see updates every week that would bring anywhere from minor to meta-changing balancing. The game has not had a single good balance patch in my opinion in about 8+ years. Jungle Inferno felt like a slap to the face for a lot of the balance changes, for example making bad weapons even more unusable, making mediocre weapons just bad, and a host of other badly thought out changes. The player base has begged and pleaded with Valve for quite some time for actual updates to the game and all we get is slapped with a box filled with community-made cosmetics and maybe a map or two made by someone else.

3. I think Valve has just lost all integrity for their loyal fans that made them successful in the first place. I have been a user of steam since the year 2008, back when everything was olive green and very bland, and the most popular games on the platform at the time were, unsurprisingly, VALVE GAMES. I have waited and waited and waited some more for the time when the Valve that cared, the Valve that I REMEMBERED, would show up again and make us all fall in love with them for the second time... but that hasn't happened yet, has it?

I am sorry if this review is all over the place and I am just sounding like a rambling freak, but I just care so much for this game and don't want it to stay in this poor state forever...
