(spoilers) (also long) You know, I went into this game thinking there was going to be some sort of weird twist.. how pretty early on the game makes it clear something is off. You find out you're being monitored so on and so forth, find a camp full of high tech equipment and are made to believe that there is something possibly of a social experiment going on. All of these "conspiracies" are laid out in the open pretty clearly to make you think there's something bigger at play.

What I don't understand is how the game sets up all of these troupes with the fenced off area, and all of that equipment with obvious government "research" at play to wind back the story to just be about some guy's kid that died in a cave and he can't coop with it. Not to mention how obvious romantic tension builds between the main character and D just to have her recluse and just leave.

Now, I didn't open all the supply caches, I didn't find any secrets worth noting, and I didn't explore or cut through all of the blocked path ways. So maybe it's a completion-ist type thing that triggers different endings or story telling but somehow I don't feel like that is going to matter. I feel like the Devs didn't want it to be some sort of over the top weird ending and just kind of played it back as more of a reminder of how ♥♥♥♥ life turns out to be a lot of the time... I guess I can understand why they did that, because a story that is normal and turns into something of a government social experiment type twist is becoming a cliche if you think about it.. But I couldn't help but wish it DID just turn out to be something along those lines because the current ending we have is just straight unsatisfying

I don't believe the game is ♥♥♥♥, or has poor story telling, because it is neither of those. The atmosphere and the dialogue were all very well done and pretty gripping and i actually was pretty interested in what was happening next. I guess I just wish the ending wasn't so depressing, but again I suppose I can understand why they did it.
