I love the controls, very cool idea to only jump via recoil. Great level design and especially a great end world boss. funny cutscenes. I DIE.

Aside from all the jokes, Peggle has some great gameplay. Your first time around the game makes an effort to teach you about the 10 masters, and then lets you freely play the adventure or any other levels. There are also several challenges if you're feeling confident, or you can play against a friend (but since you use steam, you can also play against a computer).

just an overall improvement from the original that has actual fun in mind

After a few hours of gametime, the gameplay just gets really stale. this isn't something that you'll have enjoyment from for a while, it has like 2 hours of game worth
