I've followed this developer since Dreams of Desire, and while their storytelling always starts strong, Midnight Paradise follows a similar pattern—an engaging beginning that gradually loses focus. The pacing becomes uneven toward the latter half, and the lack of a clear distinction between sandbox elements and the main storyline makes the experience feel disjointed.
Achievement tracking also suffers—not due to complex routes, but because of a flowchart system that feels underdeveloped and somewhat rushed.
That said, visually, this is one of the most impressive 3D visual novels out there. The level of detail in the character models is exceptional, and the overall design—especially the female characters—is striking. It’s where the game truly shines.
As a longtime fan, I’d love to see future titles carry over this visual excellence while tightening the narrative flow and structure for a more cohesive experience.
