It's good if you enjoy extraction games.

Pros
Play your way
Farm mobs/gear (Players may come for you learn to run)
PVP (Chase people for gear)
Squire merchant which always provides basic gear that you can customize.
Class diversity
Mobs are not too easy or hard (some balance is always need)
Patches are thoughtful and not knee jerk responses.
Market for buying/trading
Goblin Merchant lets you buy back lost gear from failed extractions.

Cons
Devs aren't afraid to test things. (This can sometimes break things or make balance awful)
People can be toxic
Combat is slower, and can take time to learn
You lose your gear, but that's every extraction based game
Some of the quest are too nuanced. If it's pvp it should be a pvp quest not kill random class in random dungeon.


I've been playing Dark and Darker since it first released on their website. The game has definitely had it's ups and downs. It had a bit of an identity crisis when they had an extraction game but also had a circle of death Battle Royal. They have removed the ring of death to focus on just the extraction element.

Got this on mobile first to try it. It is simple but it was a fast 4X game that could be played with friends. Decided to purchase this here and convinced a few friends to do the same.

Here I am after playing for hours to say it was some of the best money ever spent. This easily scratches that 4X itch and can be done with friends in under an hour. Many games will take less than that. It doesn't sacrifice the normal feeling you get in these games by being faster either. It just feels good.

I think we all know by now... This is the game to play.

It's like playing D&D without the need of other people.

You can bring your friends and treat it as a D&D campaign and it's a ton of fun too.

I'm blown away at how much the developers put into this game. The coding required and forethought required for them to put all the options in the game is mind blowing. Most games have 3 options good, evil, neutral. This game has 17 options and it always has an impact somewhere, even if it's a minor one.

Really awesome game, the pvp is really balanced. You just have to understand what you're using to beat every boss or the rest of the PvE world might not be the best for PvP.

Like most survival games with pvp. Take care when picking a server. Some can be toxic and ruin your whole experience. Others will make you friends for the ages.

Merciless means full loot. You will drop all your stuff and could lose your castle.
The other servers you will keep bloodbound gear and your castle can't be key'd (Foundation wiped).

I love the fact I can be a filthy casual, login during raid hours have a ton of fun and log off. All while my servants farm material for me offline.

Really enjoying this game. I love the blending between Civilization and Endless Legend.

I really enjoy the big scale war system. It's not as easy as just rolling over your opponent.

The fame system is also great, it makes you really decide the path you want to choose.

I wanted to like this game.

Pushed out as a game where small groups could do well even thrive. Player Driven Economy, anti zerg yada yada.

Well they failed. Miserably!

Not only did they fail they couldn't even admit they were failing. I am not sure to this day they can admit it.

The game has everything in it to be great. They need to figure out another way to do it.

This is great. All of those games like Age of Empires and Rise of Nations, this is just like them. This is being actively worked on currently.

I can't give this enough praise.

I was hoping I'd earn things just by playing, like the DLC suggests, but everythings gated and it's awful.

It's just another way PUBG is allowing you to pay for a chance at maybe getting something and it's the last thing I ever pay for in this game again. It's such a gross way of taking advantage of their customers.

I am stupidly addicted to this game. It's casual so you can play it while multi tasking netflix etc. It also make you think about how things interact. Can you heat this, or warm this up and change it?

I need more water let all my people have their waste go to this whole and then I'll purify it.

There I was minding my own business staying warm. Just chopping trees and gathering Leather. My Screen Chnages and Shows me in almost cinematic form. What the crap??? Did I just die.... Man hunt on me, anyone who kills me gets a reward....Oh crap!!!!

Less than 30 seconds later 3 people are around me. I know this from the map in the hut I have decided is home. The director tells me if I run out and charge them he will protect me. I charge all fo them, he gives me invicibility! Oh yay time to kill! Thent he gravity goes away so everyone who gets hit flies miles away. One of them hits me with an arrow and I fly far away.I head back in and take a few more arrows before dying.

10/10 would go into Dragon ball Z fights again
