If this is what an Auto-battler is supposed to be, then I love the genre!

Mechabellum is a breath of fresh air. As a busy adult, the game works really well for me; It scratches the RTS itch while not requiring the keyboard/mouse coordination of a professional StarCraft player, but at the same time it is strategically compelling as your composition and positioning really matter and the dynamics of those decisions change over time as you and your opponent develop your armies and abilities. Matches don't take too much time and are fairly consistent, you can get ~3 good games in within an hour. The "unit modification" mechanic is great for exploring play styles and keeps things interesting as you experiment with your composition and strategy.

If I had one gripe with the game, it's the menu UI. It works but it's messy, particularly with the chat and game invite buttons. Would love to see some improvement there.

All that said, I would absolutely recommend and it is my personal game of the year!

Edit: 2: They've released fixes for server login issues and progression/rewards. Props to the dev team for their communication and effort on these fixes!

Edit: I hopped on today only to see the server's are offline. Changing review until this is playable again.

This game is awesome, but they need clean up performance issues. Feels like a beta release but I've seen worse. If you're wanting a clean first experience, then wait a bit for the fixes. (Performance seems to vary a LOT; Some users are constantly crashing, others are totally fine, and everything in between. Buy at your own risk for now.)
