It is literally impossible to get into rhythm games, i wanted to start playing the genre just so i could have a fun experience but since most online rhythm games dont have a set campaign (possibly because of copyright) they depend on the community to make levels

the rhythm game community is filled with (really nice and kind) madmen, they are able to play whatever the hell you throw at them with zero error in precision, thats fine for them but since most people who make maps are at the top of the bell curve they make levels for those who are at this upper eschelon of people who are able to play these levels

the lack of an established campaign really does throw me off because in most every game progression is marked by increasingly harder and harder gameplay but since there's no established set of levels you can play to "get good" and so i played the first level i found, it was a nightmare of lines that i could not even begin to process before i was bombarded with even more keys

i am bad at these games, i admit that

but how am i expected to learn more than the basic mechanics of pressing keys without a clear throughline of levels to guide me, i tried playing levels of songs i already know and love but somehow that made it worse because they were way above what i even considered humanly possible

literally every. single. time. i try to give a rhythm game a fair shot im assaulted with inhuman tests of precision and finger dexterity that, worst case scenario, isnt even RHYTHM-BASED
