I've had the greatest multiplayer sessions in my life, playing this game with friends. If you're a Trek fan, the gameplay is based around the ethic of an officer space crew. Teamwork and commands will make you feel like you're in an episode with friends. Fill the roles of the Captain, Scientist, Engineer, Pilot, and Weapons Specialist.
Be warned, this game is not a great solo game. Find community members or convince gamers you know to play with you. The graphics are a dated, but the gameplay will have you wishing for sequels. I still reminisce with my friends on this game.
