Since there is no neutral recommendation or something like that, i'd say i go with a recommendation.
Im writing this review after getting all achievments

The game looks good, music is good and the game rewards exploration to an extend.
Why to an extend? Because most of the stuff you find you will never ever use.
I played my character for roughly 100 hours, made a pvp alt inbetween but im kinda torn apart. The game doesnt feel like it rewards a new run or ng+. There is no change in ng+ besides bosses can take more hits and do a bit more damage.
The combat with the block counter sounds very good, and it is at first. For the first half of the game, everything seems very balanced out, many places to go and things to do if you get stuck. At some point, bosses start two or even oneshotting, depending on your Health, i had a very high health build and bosses in the end game seem to always twoshot. Aswell as they have some ridicolus long combos, some bosses even jump miles away making you walk a lot after them for no reason.
On the other hand, boy there were bosses that felt good, like really good. Sadly those are just a few, if i'd count i'd go with like 5 out of all the bosses i fought (roughly 50 bosses if i guess)

The lore is good, its a lot more clear than other soulsborne titles. Most NPC's actually play a roll in the game if you keep your eyes open and read item descriptions.
There will be a lot of things one will miss in this game, but most things are really just fodder. The open world, sadly, feels very empty. Sure there are groups of mobs hanging around but no reason to kill them at all. But you can ride in this game, so thats a bonus i guess. Mounted combat feels akward at best.
Elden Ring also has a crafting feature which i didnt use at all, there was just no reason for me. The items are just consumeables,

In regards of combat this game really made a jump forward, there are weapon arts which are basically skills that make you do fancy combos and stuff, and i have yet to find one that isnt useful in some way. You can also adjust your weapons on each grace (bonfire) whenever you want, as long as you have the key item for it. If the boss is weak against fire? Go fire. Need ice? Get Ice. Thats a good way to keep your favourite weapon without building it multiple times.

In the matter of NG+, i am really disapointed, it felt more like a chore to get the other two endings, so i just ignored everything on my way to the bosses i needed, there is absolutly NOTHING new in NG+, no reason to explore again, just beefed up enemies that give more runes (souls). All items you can get in this game, you can get in the first run.

The thing about coop and pvp, i didnt really coop much but i invaded a lot, what i noticed is, that there is an item that makes you open for invades, obviously not many people use it for obvious reason. I only invaded a single player once out of like 50 invasions, most invasions were 1v2 or even 1v3, rough, wish it were different. Takes a bit spice out of the game compared to other fromsoft games. Especially since there is a mechanic similar to humanity or ember. On my end, i did use the item from time to time, just to make it a bit more fun, there were actually a lot of people invading.

about halfway through the game i started using the interactive map from the wiki, the game is just too big and theres too many things you can simply miss. Some big areas or even major bosses can be missed as they are tied to quests (which - however arent missable as long as you find the start of it) For example, in my very last run (ng+2) i encountered a gigantic version of a small enemy for some reason, just had more hp, thats it - didnt drop anything.

TLDR: I'd still rather play another soulsborne game than eldenring, its not bad just not as good as people make it out to be.
