I truly enjoyed my time with this game. It's really solidly written, though I'd imagine for someone not as interested or experienced with 40k it'd probably be a bit harder to get in to, but even then they provide enough information that I don't think that should be a major problem. I'd say it's probably about a 7 or 8 out of ten.

However,

The technical quality of this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ abysmal. It is infested with bugs in a way that was never truly game ruining for me (though I did have to manually complete the occasional quest step utilizing mods as it would sometimes just not progress and you'd be stuck), but rather it just truly made the moment to moment experience of playing it really frustrating. I really enjoyed the game's story and character, they weren't perfectly written at all times but it was clear the writers had a lot of respect and care for the setting they were working in, and they did a really good job. Despite that I can't recommend it as this game feels like it needs so much more extra work on the technical side of things that I highly doubt it'll ever get

If you like 40k, AND are willing to put up with a game so rough around the edges that it should never have been released like this, get it on sale. Otherwise, stay away and do not bother. It's a real shame that is the case though, because this really could have been something really really great. All the pieces are there, good story, solid characters, an interesting combat system that is stupidly easy to break in half (turns out extra turns are really good), but the technical side is just so so so bad that it ruins it. What a waste of potential.

Atlus finally brought the best modern persona game to current day platforms, and it's fantastic. For anyone who hasn't played P3 before, this is almost certainly the best possible way to experience it. Some very important things are missing, I personally still can't believe that they chose to not include the answer or the female protagonist (though one can always hope), those things are not what matters for someone who hasn't even played the journey before.

As far as the things that this does rather than what it does not, I think it nails almost everything that it does. There is a little bit of atmosphere compared to og P3/P3Fes, and that is in my opinion the one thing that it does not fully nail. It's not fully gone, but it is severely diminished. The music is great as always, with the new vocalist being pretty good, though she is a lot better on the new original tracks than one the ones that were remade. The combat feels great like in all modern persona games. I played through the entire game on merciless, and while it was not nearly as easy of a game as persona 5 royal, I still would not really say I was challenged. I died a couple of times near the start of the game, but once you've got access to more personas and the skills they come with, the game is still a complete breeze to go through. The theurgy skills they added are also ludicrously busted and obliterate any sort of difficulty from orbit. For example (final boss spoilers): I was able to basically oneshot each of nyx's 13 phases with just a tarukaja up on a character, without even debuffing nyx's defence by chaining theurgy attacks together. kinda ridiculous lmao. However, it's still pretty fun to play, even if it is rather easy for the most part.

Overall, this is a very very good remake, but man when will Atlus stop pulling an Atlus whenever they release a game, you know? Like it's ridiculous that they chose to remake base persona 3 without any of the other extra things from fes or portable, but then again I did also buy this game so that's not really helping. Regardless, Persona 3 Reload is really good, it's a very very good game.
