Winning a run released so much dopamine that it has had me rethinking just how important the birth of my own child truly was to me.

The modding community turned this game into a free-for-all with MMO style player amounts where the only actual thing that makes sense is to turn your game into a Hell's Kitchen RP.

I'm not kidding.

And this is a good thing, let me add. I haven't had this much fun in a long damn time.

Hi there. I can see some folks gettin' real fussy about this one. ESPECIALLY if they dare play it in non-VR, but I don't get the problem whatsoever. I spent about eight hours, on and off, just having a blast. If anything, this game makes me think the devs really loved System Shock. Which is a huge compliment, let me add, because System Shock was fantastic.

There's a heap of really quality things about this game, down to the decks, the weapon variety and the fact it touches on some cool things you just don't see in games of this type. It's not often that I get a chance to play in space horror ever since we lost hope for Dead Space, so getting to play around as Zimri's clone and get spooked in the dark was pretty rad.

You should definitely jump in on this one. If you're nostalgic for the space horror without the Dark Souls-esque Returnal on PS5 not being accessible, you should come play around here in The Persistence. Hell, if you enjoyed how constantly changing games like Hades are but want something more suited to your FPS (and VR) space horror mainstays -- this is what you should be playing. Every run is different and I really appreciate that.

Played this game during a stream and you wouldn't believe how wholesome and engaging it felt to discuss these letters with chat. They helped me answer some and it started discussions about mental health during times of stress and fear. This game helped a lot of people set aside their panic and help answer the scared notes of young folks who sent in their letters. Sometimes, that is all we need when we get stuck in our own heads. We just need to help. Even if it's the smallest amount.

Have you ever stumbled upon something that you'd never heard of before and found it so special that it becomes a part of your personality?

That is what TLC is to me. 31 hours invested in this game, having done multiple runs on my stream and taking several people through this 90's sleep-paralysis-demon-turned-video-game -- and I would do it again. In fact, I will do it again.

Let me add that this is a video game in the most generous of ways, as the most 'gaming' you do is answering strange 'psychology' questions. I bring a new person through the game every time and make them answer the questions, which oddly shape the outcomes of the game. I even challenge people to try and get full no-nudity runs because it is SO DIFFICULT that it's unreal.

In all honesty, the acting is horrific and the story is bizarre but there are so many The Room like moments in it that you can't help but love it. This game is inexpensive to a somewhat strange degree and it's worth every penny. Get this game, play it with your friends and have a blast at the absurdity. That's what it is for.

This game may as well be called "JANITOR CHASE SIMULATOR 2018" which made me pretty intensely sad. The story was interesting and I was loving the different demons and stories going on -- but the second I knew that janitor was around, it's like the game became a different situation.

And I just couldn't do that for longer than six hours. It's a bummer. The Janitor seems like he is a gameplay mechanic used in order to pad out the game. Which if you include a pretty much unstoppable component like that -- which interrupts the flow of your story, it doesn't make the game a good time. It makes it a struggle that doesn't feel like a challenge but like the game is fighting against you to practically make you stop.

If the Janitor mechanic was a little less and I mean even twenty to thirty percent less, I would be glowing with love for it. The animation style is beautiful, the story is interesting and I enjoyed the puzzles and fights. The Janitor is literally my only true thumbs down but it's a big thumb, you know? Like that door-baby sized thumb. <3

I've been playing this game, two hours at a time, for several weeks. When I say several, I mean like.. eleven weeks. This has given me a lot of time to process.

Yes, I received this game from PR -- but that's never really mattered to me when it came to being critical. Visual Novels nowadays seem rather pedantic and they almost seem built to be cheap little one-man-shows where the writer monologues you until you're passing out from the pretentiousness.

This game is not that. In fact, this game is written with such a love for comedy and yet realistic drama which is wrapped around a fantasy story in which a girl kisses animals and sprouts enchanted young men. The artwork is close to the chest and done with an innocent love for these characters. It's bright, it's darling and not even remotely your typical fare. If you can get past some of the repetetive explanations of their plight to each new character they encounter, Animal Lover will take you on an emotional journey on getting to know people outside of your typical comfort zones.

The lead character grows before your eyes, which is thanks to the writer and those characters that look so light-hearted and cute, start to develop slowly but surely as you fight your way through this complicated situation thrust upon an everyday person.

So, if you have several hours to devote to dialogue that Kevin Smith would salivate over and you want artwork that is endearingly sweet and perfected for their story -- get this game. Get this game, mull over its many choices and its romances and then share it with your friends.

TL;DR -- I played Dream Daddy for four hours and never went back. This game, however, has captured my heart and allowed itself a dozen hours of my time to this point. Get it and dig deep.

Okay, so I was sent Painscreek and I was curious and REALLY interested. As someone who streams games like this and really enjoys pulling apart mysteries with my buddies in the audience -- this seemed like my kind of thing. The story is fascinating and you'll be taking notes almost immediately. It holds you accountable for what you learn and there's not a single bit of guidance. It essentially sets you on your way from the start.

I will say that optimization should be looked into. I run a very high-end gaming PC and it was struggling with frame rate when we'd go into new areas. The loading times are a bit intense and you'll find yourself wondering if the game froze. The game will also, well, freeze. There were moments I couldn't move, I'd get stuck trying to unlock a door and have to restart the game from the title screen.

Visually, it's actually quite impressive. Perhaps too ambitious, if I'm being honest. It seems like the heft of that framerate issue could've been helped by maybe not having a ton of useless exterior buildings. What do I know though? I just write about games -- I don't make them. The music is good at building the drama and I will say, I did NOT expect some of the things that occurred. I liked that. The game does keep you on your toes despite being touted as a walking simulator mystery experience.

I would like to see the bugs and things hammered out a bit more in an upcoming update so that I can feel better about cracking this game open on stream again. At its current state, I spent most of my time stuck in frame-rate drops and chugging, loading screens and just an overwhelming sense of feeling like I was on my own to figure out what I could do to reduce those things.

The developers are onto something though and I will say that the story DOES make up for those situations. I had questions, I had notes and I was really interested in finding out who killed Vivian. I also really dug the fact you can end the game as SOON as you think you figured out who did it and you even have to include a good picture for the expose you're writing.

Fix the bugs and you've got a fan for life, folks.
