Critics are strange guys.

They're all amused and happy when 10000000000th CoD-like game is released, because this is what medium audience want to hear, and they have also a good word when the 1000000000th "tech-demo-and-nothing-else-new FPS" hits the scene (yeah, i'm really thinking about Crysis 1, 2 and Warhead and similars) arguing that "there is nothing really new in this game, but LOOK THE GRAPHIC ENGINE!".

But when a game like this comes in, a good old school FPS that brings you back in the golden age of the genre (late 90s), heavily penalized in tech by 12 (TWELVE) years of developement and 4-5 graph engine changes during them, no excuses are admitted.

So they beat it 'til death, just because yeah, it's just fun, but it's non-conform to modern standards (i.e. it's not the 10000000001st Cod-like fps) and tech is out of date.

Don't trust them.
This game will bring you back to late 90s, IMHO when the greatest FPSs were released, and that's all I can say.
