This game has a lot going for it. It is visually very good looking and the audio is great. I think it is doing a good thing with it's skill trees and skill progression, even if it isn't entirely intuitive at first. There seems to be a lot of depth available here, a lot of customization available for playstyles even within the three main "classes." I've watched this game since it's initial launch in early access/beta and waited for it to get improvements and be in a better state. I think this game is as good as it is going to get from a stability standpoint, and it seems like the game is now complete in terms of content.

The sole reason I actively do not recommend this though is that the combat feels extremely clunky. The basic attacks of all weapon types feel very bad to use, and the animations are entirely too long. Your character will linger in an attack animation for up to a whole second after an attack has fired depending on the weapon, leaving you unable to do anything. I though perhaps there was input lag because I was playing on the online server, so I switched to offline. My PC has fine specs and ran Wolcen at max graphics on 120 fps consistently with no drops for my entire three hours of playing. This to say, there is nothing wrong with this game from a technical standpoint - it is just the single worst ARPG I have ever played purely because the core gameplay and simply attacking feels horrendous. Targeting enemies only seems to work about half the time, and even with precise force-attack, it can be difficult to hit enemies consistently. The skills somewhat make up for this, but they are hit or miss on feeling good to use. I cannot even recommend this game on sale, which is how I picked it up.
