Early Access Review
I cannot recommend this game yet...

Played on the Quest

However, this game does have the potential to be something amazing that I always wanted. The story mode has the most potential in my eyes so far and for the 15 minutes, the sneak peek was fun and well made.
This game has a get atmosphere and made me feel like I was in the metro tunnels with sounds all around of creaks and drips with the sounds of monsters nearby only being lit by your lighter. Just you and your pistol close then the game bug or some crap just rips you out of the game world.

This game has some outstanding issues which need to be fixed. I will start with the most game-breaking to annoying;

Part of the map not loading in, this scared the daylights out of me when I was about to go down a flight of stairs all of the stairs and decals in that room all disappeared. This also happened to me when I was even walking in a normal hall.
Picking things up, work like most other games but you'll need to bend over a bit to pick things up which I don't mind. Has made me get lost since decals and hallways disappeared on a few occasions.

Once I've finally gotten out from the SCP stairway, it is not well exampled that going back to the cart will get rid of all your items in your backpack. The first time it happened I thought it bugged out, the second time it happened I'm guessing it's a part of the game. To leave without losing items the green glow stick must be found. I will not be taking the cart a third time. If the way out you are taking should have a different colour on your watch like a red count down instead of green or some sort of audio cue.

In the same raid, I was going to break the boards and lock of a door, however, there was a monster behind it and I heard it so I take out my knife and break the boards however this monster has very long arms which hit me through the door and planks nearly killing me.

What I do mind is when I drop a mag on the ground and go to pick it up one of two things happen. The character's body rotates or I grab my gun. Which started to make me go insane.

As a Metro player: I play Hardcore Ranger on all of the Metro games and I've used the stealth before; here it works similarly however versing the monsters there is no stealth kill so I have to waste 7 bullets or stab it a few times and take damage still. You can sneak around them but it isn't worth it.

Monster types: One. This is not fun killing the same fast-moving janky monster, which isn't fun to fight with the pistol.

Unlike Into the Radius, you cannot pick up bullets which were accidentally ejected with annoyed me.

The Blood screen effect: I hate it, please make it something else. It's distracting and made it even harder to see. Which yes is the point but it was a 2D effect on my eyeballs and annoyed it.

I don't get dizzy after playing VR typically but after playing this my eyes hurt and I felt bad after.

The backpack is too small, following Sanit and Sinner's ideas more than Into the Radius, but it's too small and makes raids feel short

Once this game has more polish and development I could recommend this game but in its current state, it's playable which is good but is it worth the cost right now? NO. Play Into the Radius for another year and then come back.

I want this game to do well I love the Metro games and playing it in VR will be so much fun I now want to touch on what made it fun;

The looks - Everything looks good, detailed and grounded.

The Gunplay - it felt good, like any other VR shooter. The attachments are all nice and welcoming.

Hub - The shooting range is nice and how you can play with the breaker box is a nice touch. The store is well... In the store, I don’t have much to say. Your personal room is fun with little things to play with and to store items.
One thing I think would be cool, like in the metro games you’ll have you wander the town to get to the stores and maybe sidequests can be given out there (Raid mode)? It would just give more things for the player to do.

Rat friend - Do more with this please I beg you, let me feed, let me pet, please.

I'm going to keep this game in my library and probably play more but right now this game isn't overly fun to play.

One of the best HL2 mod I've played.

Maps:
All the maps for this campaign are well made and give a feeling of discovering without being too lost.
There are special events that happen that you can just pass which makes exploration more fun and rewarding.
Every environment felt lived in and looked great, secrets and supplies are scattered around so there is always a reason to look around.

Story:
It's fun, but can't take it too seriously because of all the one liner our guy says. However the story has a lot of effort put into it making it fit into the HL2 world which I can appreciate. The great VA is also appreciated, I didn't notice any issues with the VA's such as different microphone qualities. I enjoyed the endings and the final boss fight too.

Combat:
I found playing on the hardest setting gives the best feeling to the gun play forcing the player to move around or find a good fighting position. Wish they had some more alien guns but the Gauss pistol was a blast to use. Going back to the boss fights, they were great for a HL game, just know you can cheese some of them. Which I totally didn't do.

In Summary:
A well made with its ups and downs, but mostly up, with fun gun play and level design. I only had one bug for my whole play thought and it was when the Gunship is meant to crash and break a wall and it just got stuck in the wall.

Rating 2/3
Hopefully there will be a third.
