Really fun game, not really worth kernel level anticheat or trusting Sony with your data.

The built-in downloader is extremely unreliable and prevents me from playing the game entirely. It claims to be offline while nothing else on my computer is.

Music selection is youtuber-outro tier: it's tolerable but you can tell licensing was cheap. The add-on DLC does very little to up the variety and/or quality.

Auto Generated tracks suck pretty badly. It looks like they just have a roster of 20-ish 2 and 4 beat patterns they string together randomly. Even on Hard, it's only intense when the flow of these random patterns clash and make you move strangely. Would much rather have the ability to create custom workouts from scratch, it's kind of inexplicable that capability isn't in there.

All that being said - this is the VR game that consistently gives me the best workout (add wrist weights for some strength training to go with your cardio) and is the one I keep coming back to.

Pretty bad value compared to the base game.

I'd put these workouts in the bottom half as far as difficulty is concerned - if you're considering buying this because you've played all the other workouts, you will be very well beyond the intensity on offer here and get bored fast.

The good news is unlike the base game, none of the songs are reused between workouts but that also means the overall variety of the music selection across the library of workouts isn't improved much.

As per usual, the music isn't terrible but isn't anything I'd listen to outside the game either. There does seem to be a bit more instrumental here, if that's your thing.

This is the first and last game I ever pre-ordered.

Essentially, this is Quake Wars with a cool reskin, and parkour taking the place of vehicles. One of the defining sore points of Quake Wars (and Brink) is the complete inability of the AI to do objectives alone. Prepare to constantly switch classes if you're forced to play singleplayer (which on launch, you were).

If only steam refund existed back then.

It's been said before, and I'll say it again:

This is Dead Island, but good.
