This is a complete re-write to replace my old joke review.

The game is mostly DLC. There's little content that's not part of DLC (luckily some are free now), the game itself has little content. I'm pretty sure the prices decreased recently (originally the DLC was like $150), but that doesn't change the fact that there's little to the game without it. I for one am burned by the business practices of Overkill. I mean, really? 40 DLC packs?

They also implemented micro-transactions. These wouldn't be a big deal, but they were skins that actually changed stats! So, you could pay your way to being better. It's like paying money for skills. It didn't really affect things too much however, and apparently they are removed now.

Not only is the game flawed from being broken into many parts, it's also incredibly repetitive, tedious, and full of waiting. Run back and forth between two locations, fight waves of the same enemies, listen to the same damn audio clips, enter the same damn ingredients, and much more. The game is a total grind-fest.

The community isn't much better either, as it's filled with hackers, or people who take the game too seriously.

Stealth is also incredibly half-arsed and barely worth doing. If the game is normally a wait-fest, then stealth is basically waiting simulator. Waiting isn't inherently bad, they didn't make the waiting entertaining. If you want to play a stealth game, look elsewhere.

I won't deny that I wrung some fun out of this game, but that came mostly from my friends in co-op, not from the game itself. The game isn't bad, it really isn't. It just falls into so many pitfalls and bad development choices that I can't say that it's good.

If you want/wanted this game, now is probably the time to get it. Seeing as the prices are lower, micro-transations have been removed, and the skill tree isn't quite so broken anymore. However, I do not recommend this game.

literally unplayable

As in, platforming is so imprecise and glitchy that you can't really play the game.

I love this game. Elizabeth is one of my favorite characters. She is made to be this incredibly real character, and you miss her when she's not around. The look/graphics of the game are incredible, but the combat is a bit slow, and the looting and searching is out of place in Colombia, which bogs down the experience a bit.

However, any gripes with this game are invalidated by the story, environments, characters, and Elizabeth herself. This game will definitely leave a mark.

Buy it.
Do it.
Seriously.
