Interesting game whose complexity falls off around the mid game.

The game does an awesome job at introducing you to different concept and can be quite overwhelming in the beginning when it asks you to consider how different production processes will affect the quality of your final products. This is expanded upon later as products start requiring more and more subassemblies, which in turn requires different production methods. After a few hours of play with a proper factory up and running, all of this seems less daunting, but it's also around this point the game falls a bit short because it stops challenging you in any meaningful way (if you disregard the random nuisance events, which you should definitely turn off).

The game quickly becomes about having a factory that is "good enough" to take care of most orders, while you slowly upscale your capacity. This is the midgame. By the endgame you can produce practically anything as long as you have a well thought out factory, and the game turns into queue simulator where you have to think about what subassembly you ordered to be assembled where so that you don't overbook your assembly stations. The game doesn't convey this information to you, so this is something you will have to remember.

Getting to the final product of the last "challenger" is a long grind with a huge reward at the end, but the reward is meaningless because after you complete the product, you have no clear goals other than expanding "because you can". You can pump your numbers up and take in bigger and bigger orders, but even this has a cap as you should have unlocked all of the tech tree by then and as such all orders are at their biggest.

All in all: good game with around 20h of meaningful playtime. Definitely worth your money if you're into games like these.
