The devs don't like it when you mod your own models into the app, so here's how to downgrade to the version compatible with Melon Loader:

Open WIN + R and paste:
steam://open/console

Paste this into the steam console:
download_depot 3301060 3301061 8228098102537752112

This will download previous version to a separate folder, the console log will tell you where it is located. Copy the contents of this folder into the main folder of Desktop Mate.

To prevent the game from updating further:

Exit Steam

Search for the app on SteamDB

Open "appmanifest_3301060.acf" within your Steamapps folder.

Set StateFlags to 4

Copy the BuildID from SteamDB and paste it over the current BuildID.

Within SteamDB, click on Depot 3301061 and copy/paste the manifest ID over the manifest within the .acf file.

Save the file. Once you open Steam the game shouldn't have an update pending.

Happy modding.

Stalker 2 is wonderfully immersive and hits all the right marks of a Stalker game. While there is some ironing out to do before it is perfect, it had a very solid launch. After a very tumultuous development period, the game still made it to release and I have full faith in the developers to continue to keep the game moving forward.

After about a decade and a half since the last release, far too many Stalker "fans" are too used to mods like Gamma and Anomaly and have entirely forgotten their roots. Mods of that level will release in time, as is the nature of the Stalker series.

As fun as this game can be, it feels like almost every time I try to play with friends someone has to spend 15+ minutes troubleshooting because they can't join anybody. Once we finally manage get everyone together there's either frequent crashing or huge FPS drops. The game has a lot to it to be great but the technical issues often make me regret launching the game.

It's everything you've ever wanted out of a Battlefield-like FPS.

The game at it's core really has a lot going for it, and overall I'm enjoying it more than MW2019. At least, when it works I do. You sometimes cannot even go two matches in a row without it crashing, switching to co-op will reset all of your controls, and the servers are so bad that if you don't crash out of a game, you're likely to just lag out of it instead.

Clearly the game wasn't ready for release, but Activision needs that $$$$.

Edit: This review was for MWII before they switched it to the bland Call of Duty launcher

As much as I enjoy the core gameplay and mechanics of this game, I cannot recommended it. I'd also like to say that I only really play ground forces, so I can't speak for Naval or Air.

Mechanically speaking this is the best, most satisfying tank game on the market. The perfect balance of realism and arcade with beautifully crafted and detailed models. Knocking out an enemy tank requires more than shooting at it as you'll have to learn ammo types, enemy armor thickness and weak spots, location of crew members, and more. The learning curve flows naturally with the progression of tanks throughout the tiers with more advanced tech being gradually introduced. There's really nothing more I could ask for a realistic yet arcade-y tank game.

However, I can't recommend any new players get into this game due to the abysmal grind and how the entire F2P system was designed around making you frustrated enough to open your wallet. Repairing vehicles costs in-game currency and it isn't noticeable at first but once you get to higher tier vehicles you will very quickly go bankrupt unless you consistently go top of the leaderboard. Additionally Gaijin loves to release new, blatantly overpowered premium vehicles that can only be obtained though spending real world money. These vehicles will stay OP for a long time until Gaijin feels that they have milked enough money out of the players that bought it either because it was OP or because they're sick and tired of getting killed by one every match and wanted to run it themselves.

TL;DR Amazing tank mechanics, awful, greedy, grindy F2P experience.

The new update that brought Hunt: Showdown into Hunt: Showdown 1896 has been one step forward and many, many steps backwards.

Lore pages and hunter descriptions are now gone for seemingly no reason.
PvE trials are also removed, and with it so is your ability to explore maps in an empty server.
The new UI is abysmal, cluttered, buggy, and tries to get you to buy things with Blood Bonds every step of the way.
Network performance is far worse than pre-update and crashes are far more frequent.
The event is shorter than past events but the battlepass is still the same length. Better get grinding!

Oh yeah, hope you don't like to look at your map at all because looking at it while a bounty is banishing gives an extremely high chance to crash! Have fun with that.

New map is neat I guess, and the water looks nice.

Got this as a gag gift and it's about what you'd expect. Low effort games put together in 3 minutes with yiff being the prize to finishing the levels. It's awful and made only to make loads of easy money from horny furries, and it's working.
