The overall package is good when there aren't technical issues. Right now things are a bit more rough around the edges with 1.0.

If you're looking for something as bombastic at surface level as D4, or actually polished as Path of Exile/Grim Dawn, it's not quite there yet - but there's a lot of promise here. As they flesh out their core content with further Cycles (Path Leagues) I could see this being a real contender.

+Great package at its core and the team is clearly passionate about their product

+Regular updates through an evolving live service story used to deliver new content

+Warbonds are a great anti-FOMO approach to the modern Battlepass
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Updates and bugfixes often introduce new equally annoying bugs -- the glitchy kind, not the fun to shoot kind

-Trash-tier anticheat and a (soon to be) required PSN account to play

-Arrowhead communication with their players needs improvement, is getting better overall, but some asinine comments by Community Managers still occur
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Game is a 10/10 as long as you don't care about the anticheat/PSN and do your best to ignore the questionable balance change explanations and Community Manager salt.

Early Access Review
Phasmophobia is the Dark Souls of a friend going AFK in a bathroom with the doors closed, after which the homies open every door and ask the ghost to come chill for a midnight bathroom chanting session

Beat it in one sitting right after buying, absolutely loved it. Took about 3 or 4 hours, no regrets about the price tag at all since there are things to go back and do, and it's one of those games that the story takes on a whole different light experiencing it again.

If you like Synthwave/Bladrunner aesthetics and sounds you'll be at home. Artwork is incredible, the story is actually well written, gameplay is solid and doesn't feel unfair at all. Use all of the tools presented to you and you'll have no problem getting through levels. Secrets and achievements are clever as well.

The only people I would not suggest this to are those that get frustrated with one-hit games easily, or those who get frustrated by being "forced" to die - you absolutely will die in certain encounters, but it's one of those situations where you die and come back more prepared than before. Death is not punishing at all, and checkpoints are fair and forgiving from what I ran in to.

Just play it! 9/10 for me, would be 10/10 if it was a little longer!
