Well, i'm going to be very brief and honest:

- The game art style is amazing, everything looks nice and sounds good too.
- Combat is good too
- Weapons have a good amount of variety
- Upgrade system is okish
- Town looks amazing
- Quests changing some areas and adding some variety is a nice touch

Ok, so why i'm gaving a negative review?...

There are some flaws for me that made me get bored very fast:

First of all, game is not hard at all after you get used to it. Its quite easy actually, weapons doesnt scale very good and you will stomp everything after finding a good weapon.

The drop system is absolute garbage, most of times exploring areas to find chests and bosses is useless, because the drop wont pay off. You better run for end-game as fast as you can, because the closest to level 30 you are, the better the drops.

Other major problem with the base game is how weapons skills works. They are based on FOCUS bar, basically the same concept as mana bar for weapons skills in Eldenring.

Some skills are unbalanced as hell, fast weapons and elemental damage will destroy most enemies quite fast. You can synergize your build to do more damage with focus skills and regaining more focus on hits, and this breaks the game balance very quickly, because you will one-two shot everything. And at some point you will basicaly have infinite focus and can spam skills very easily.

The worst part now:

And oh boy, its really bad. At some point the game will stop having a campaing and will throw you inside a "crucible dungeon".

At first i was excited to play it, but after the 2~3 run, its the same design over and over again.
Its not fun, its boring, only serves as EXP boost to get to level 30. After reaching that point, the game is basically over.

The worst thing about this is: The crucible has 6 floors, and after you clear them all, there is a boss.

This boss is one of the main reasons why i'm thumbing down this game.

Mind that every enemy, boss, and encounter was easy to fair at best, besides some unfair encounters, the game didnt have anything that was a real challenge or barrier that make you level up and find bette gear to deal with, like most souls games. But man... this boss is completely unfair.

It has a TON of health, much more health than you are used to deal it. I upgraded my weapon to a new one that was very strong, 2~3 hits to kill everything else in the crucible map, and the boss literally took so little damage that i had to reroll my build to try it again.

Besides being a bullet sponge, the moveset has little to no window to attack , and he spam some attacks in a manner that i can only think its a bug. Like, 3 dashes in a row, or 8 ranged attacks in a row. Other MAJOR problem is that most of attacks will break your poise even if you are with heavy armor. Wich make most of long-casting skills from two handed weapons useless.

if this boss had a checkpoint before him, would make this much more torable, but it doenst. You have to run again all the 6 floors, if you want to fight it again. Its just terrible design, no one wants to run that many floors that you ARE forced to kill everything in the rooms to get to the next floor.

Just pick one:

- Very hard boss unlike everything you have in the game WITH a checkpoint before him
- Mild hard boss that if you die you have to re-run the dungeon.

How it is now, it just killed my will to play another character with another build.

i Wish they spent more time balancing the rest of game to be a little more challenging and more content in the campaing , better drops and more ranged weapons.

Its a fun concept of beign dungeon-crawler-like with souls gameplay, but its not there yet, i think this game will need a decent amount of work to be really enjoyable.

One of the best shooting/survival VRgame out there. The guns are on point, they feel good, they have weight, ballistics are accurate enough and all attachments are an upgrade.

There is a lack of variety in enemy types, but, its not that bad and the solid gameplay will make you forget that.

The most negative point for me is that basegame loot table is not good as it should be, and at some point it feels pointless to loot things, and you will just ignore them.

Weapons damage are directly affected by AMMO, and well, they are not that well balanced too. Depending on how you spend your money, you will ending up with weapons that will feel and be more strong then expensive other ones. For example:

Its much better to have a M9 beretta, with P+ ammo, than most other guns. It just feels bizarre how one pistol can outperform 70% of the other guns. Maybe its the case that m9 is soo good that its outperforms most other guns.

Pistols and Smgs suffers from this alot. Most pistols are just terrible compared to the "middle-priced" beretta that destroys everything. Smgs are quite expensive and they make sense with CQC in some areas, but its just quite bad at the rest, since they use the same slot as rifles, and they lack range and acuracy for anything that needs to be taken out by distance. And before anyone says "git gud", yes, you cant kill anything with anything at any range basicaly, you can even snipe enemies with the first pistol in the game, but its a far fetch from "doable" to "optimal", in this kind of game i personally like to have the optimal choice.

Its doable killing enemies at 100m+ with marakov? yes. But it will take much more bullets than just dropping one good shot with most basic rifles like SKS.

BUT, this can be all fixed by just one MOD. That will fix and improve most of those problems.

this MOD will totally change the game for much more hardcore experience, changing damage and loot tables, and more neat stuff.

Its STALKER mod, i do fully recommend if you want the closest stalker VR experience. Its much more rewarding in terms of loot and gun progression, they make alot more sense. But i do recommend to go clean on your first playthrough, because the base game is hard at the beginning and it turns out to be easy at the end when you understand its mechanics and how to deal with the mimics.

You need this experience to face this mod, its quite overhealming to deal with the changes at first, even if you got trough the game once. This mod will change the game to simply be as hard as possible without feeling cheap, with random encounters, spawns, and less loot frequency but with better quality and pricing, wich encourages you to explore.

Enemies will track down your location and they will hear/shoot you from far, far away. Belive me, if you shoot something loud without concern, you will be HEARD by the entire map and will be hoarded pretty quickly, making gameplay much more intensive. One time i was so surrounded by enemies that i liretally climbed a truck and lied on the floor to get cover, almost run out of bullets and managed to kill what feels like the entire map. It was the most immersive experience i had in VR shooting. Do give this mod a try, its the best version of the game without a doubt.

its the same base core-game as the forest, with much better atmosphere, graphics and items. Crafting is better too, much more free and less buggy.

Even as EA it delivers a good amount of content. However, it have the same problem as original the forest, this game can be short AF if you go for guides. You literally need 3 items to progress to "end-game". Try to do it yourself, go on interest points (green dots are usually building entraces within caves, purple are GPS with some items) and find clues to what to do next. The most essential items are close to eachother in the same side of the island, you should find them in 5~8 days in-game.

One of the best remakes of the decade. Its amazing how they could make the game feel like the original, but with modern graphics and better controls. The atmosphere that was really good on the original was ramped up to 100% in this remake. Sound design is simply 10/10 and the upgrade system is still good.

That's how remakes should be done, improving over original and keeping the core intact, not some ♥♥♥♥ show out there (i'm looking at you RE3RE).

Ark is a tale of love and hate, that will go and leave of your live multiple times. Everytime i revisited the game, it was on different maps, and i have to say, everytime was amazing. When i finished the run with killing the bosses, it always ended with a sense of joy and sadness, cus i had nothing more to do. I really do recommend playing this game , even with the bugs and problems that comes with it. There are tons of content for enjoy.

Most of the "hate" part is because some ark content is just buggy or require alot of grinding to do, and everything can kill you in a matter of seconds if you dont know how to deal with them, and some times you will lose ALOT of items/dinos in the most stupid way possible. I think thats the ark experience tho, enjoyable at the most moments, frustrating as ♥♥♥ in minor ocassions, but gets better as you learn the game basics.

WHATEVER you do, do NOT get attached to dinos. They can, and they WILL die. Its sad, but its the hard truth of ark.

the game is a nice remake of the original, with alot of places with new face and materials, good gameplay changes, i think the game is 8.5/10.

It would be 9.5/10, there's a big but here, the xen part.

The first xen level is really good, literally beautiful, but the chapter 2 and 3 of xen is just a TERRIBLE,repetitive and a mindless quest of: "shoot this to cause that and proceed to the next same thing", and boy, its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ long. I rushed this thing and even so took more than 2 hours to complete.

Dont get me wrong, i LOVED the black-mesa levels, it's really nostalgic and even better than original. The music is awesome.

But man, i was almost dropping of the last boss because of that boring xen part. Holy moly, it's not even a challenge, you have infinite ammo and health/armor that can 1-hit almost everything.

I dont know WHAT they had in mind, feels like its not even from the same guys who did the black-mesa levels.

with that in mind, this horrible part is long and boring, but its 20% of the game. The black mesa levels alone is enough to buy the game.

After 170 hours of game and top 97 on rank, my experience:

Major Technical Problems

-Runs bad on any rig
-Memory Leak make it impossible to play with less than 8 gb ( even with 8 gb you have to reset the game often, or play until it crashes out of ram)
-Crashs, loads of them.
-Devs won't set priority, most of their team is worried with non-core gameplay, like mods and such.
-Stuttering and framedrop is a big portion of the match, it really ruins the game experience
-Cheaters are not that rare
-Ban are inconsistent as ♥♥♥, because they aren't being reported via game, but via players externaly.

Major Core-Gameplay Problems (IMO)

- Circle RNG
Right now the area that limit the game borders (whitecircle) is totaly unfair and broken.
The first 2-3 circles are totaly okay, the problem is the small ones. They are the opposite of strategy, and will make your game a gambling with frustrating outcomes.

You have 3 outcome's scenarios from the rng:

1 - The circle closes at your position. You'll probably win, cuz your positioning is better and people will have to move through hell and firefight to get at you. Thats pretty much it. People will die trying to get in the safezone and you just need to fight half squad or 3 man squad. Mind thats occurs 3-5% of the games. i have more than 160+ matchs at season 2, and happend like 5 times to me. I won every single one.

2 - Circle wont close at your position and you have to run for it. What should be okay if you can predict it, but the RNG factor ♥♥♥♥ you up most of the times. It's basicly impossible to deal with open areas at the final circles without a car. At 15-20 people left, it's basicly suicide to run over the open field, you will probably die before find cover, cuz other players get lucky at the circle and will shoot the hell out of you. If you're GOOD at trading, you can still win... but your chances are crushed near 10%. This is 70% of the game.

3 - End circles are at the center, and you have enough cover to move on using strategy with terrain knowledge, what makes a fair scenario. that's 10% of the game, and very satisfying when possible... but the RNG will ♥♥♥♥ you on the next close-up, or just closes at you. At both situation it wont feel fair, even with a win, most of scenarios are:

>Circle rng
>Team A are at Cover
>Team B have to run for it
>If team B moves early will die due to the lack of cover
>If it is too late, will be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up by the blue zone, unless have a car
>if you have a car, the noise will give your position and probably 1-2 members will die inside the car
>Pray for the rng god for the next circle
>Closes at unfair position again for team B
>Team A is again inside
>sad.jpg

Either you are TEAM A or TEAM B, it is unpleasant to see that outcome, no strategy, just mindless runing at open fields cuz you cant do ♥♥♥♥ about it, while the other team are at cover w8 to ♥♥♥♥ you.

Thats NOT strategy, you can't predict the circle, it's pure gamble.

People argue that's lack of planing by players, and it's not. You can try to predict the next circle, but the one after that, goodluck.

You can try to predict the worst case scenario?

Yes, you can.

But the outcome is the same.

If you are really good at shooting, you can outcome the situation with pure shooting skills, like most streamears do. And well.. that's less than 1% of the playerbase. I'm okay at shooting, at 97 general rank and 1k killing rank, i can say people aren't that good.

And if you're not, well...

We get back at the RNG gamble. Unfair and cold as ♥♥♥♥.

- 3'rd person camera:

Well, it can be used by both sides at trading, but at some spots it's basic the most op thing in the game. At corners, it's impossble to see players using the camera advantage and you have to get at that corner in some situations.

It's unbalanced and can be use by both sides, but at corner's is impossible to overcome, unless you have a shotgun, the enemy is really bad and you are really fast.

At some 4x1 situation i won because of the corners... it's just not right. I did not overcome their skill, i just have wall protection with vision of enemy aproach, unless 4 guys come at once, what i doubt in close areas, they have to granade the ♥♥♥♥ out of me and hope i get kill'd.

- Community problems

-Support sucks

Devs won't reply your bug related topic very often, even if its about memoryleak.

They will just erase your post and claim that they have enough for bug reports, mine ins't necessary. Dont even bother to post on steam, instadelete basicly.

Bad support to people who plays with good hardware but poor performance, horrible optimization at all.

- Toxic playerbase

Unless you really like to play solo, duo and squad is no good if you aren't playing with friends. People are toxic, like everyother gaming comunity. Dont even bother to comunicate. They'll TK, sure, you can report them and get their asses banned, but it's not a solution IMO.

What about the GOOD part?

Well, the game is fun to play at short-time period, but really frustrating at long-term.

Rng has this false sensation of victory, that's rare to occur and will keep fresh at most times. Feels good, but when you realize that's not smart and fair, the fun goes away.

Yes, you can get better and better at shotting, but in this game positioning is the most important thing in the game.

And if lucky is at your side, well... good! If it's not, sad. Do not spect fair outcomes, it's really rare.

EDIT: Macros are a problem right now, people can do it with no problem whatsoever. Keep that in mind.

One of the side-quests is to retrieve some pornographic photos taken by a paparasi. Oh, it's a demon-god girl who got exposed by the paparasi.

Yes, you're chasing a paparasi to get demon-porn-photos.

She's freaking hot.

Best sidequest of my life.
