It's fun, but also challenging. A difficult balance for such an interesting concept.

Welp, this was 29 hours of my life that was pretty good. Not sure how to review it without spoiling too much. It's yet another 3D physics(?) puzzle game in a similar spot as portal, but its methods of storytelling and teaching without teaching is a very rewarding experience that'll keep you engaged until you've finished the game. I will say upfront though, this game tackles concepts such as death, the after life and religion. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, but I'd say it's a well put-together game and story. The only major annoyance that I have is that 1: all puzzles must be solved before getting any endings, there's no skipping in this one, although you can get hints... (they're... typically not helpful). 2: There's a VR version of the game... did you think you'd get it for free by buying this? Nope. And before you ask, from my own research it looks like nothing new was added. 3: .... I had a 3rd, but I forgot it... I guess if I had to complain about anything else, it's the floating bombs everywhere... could we just have the lasers always be out? I got blown up accidentally so many times.

I'm not sure how to review the game that much without spoiling anything, it's very much a walking/interacting simulator. The interactions are with the environment, there's no NPCs, and you'll have to piece together the story and where to go yourself, but speaking as an idiot it isn't difficult. The game's story is methodical and deep representation of "unusual" teens in the early to mid 90s... that's not the best way to say it, but I'm at a loss for words on how to review it further. If you enjoy the stories of getting into somebody's head, seeing and interpreting what they're life is like, you'll enjoy this game.

Ending's... odd in comparison to Limbo, but this is full of interesting and creative puzzles.

it.... it hurts me to rate it the way I did, because I originally greenlit this project on the steam greenlight projects, I was hopeful with approval from the community the team would work towards a better playing experience, but it just comes off as a limbo-wannabe. Is this game terrible? No, but it does suffer from some weird design choices, odd animation placements and puzzle mechanics that work well towards the beginning, but begin making less and less sense as the game goes on. I look forward to what this team does going forward, but I wouldn't say my completion of the game left me with any sense of accomplishment.

Very much yes, I will admit that this isn't for everyone, but if the trailer perked your interest, I'd highly recommend this for you.
NotGames is working very hard on putting this game and its chapters together and it shows through the great writing and performance. I'm very looking forward to whenever chapter 2 and it's subsequent chapters come out.

Hopefully I'll be updating this later, but currently the game is unplayable for me.
Consulted guides and assistance online and have come to no conclusions as to why I'm having these problems nor how to fix them (videos won't play).
I've sent an email over to the technical team for hopefully more assistance.

If you enjoyed games like Pocket Card Jockey from GameFreak and would enjoy a more chilled version of that game, this would be for you.

I've heard people rave about this game for quite a few years, and I even saw (a few episodes) of an LP that made me interested in purchasing the game. While that's all good, I should warn you, if you've heard this game is "perfect" or "groundbreaking", you've been hearing hype that I personally think doesn't match the game. I can't speak for all playthroughs, but there will be occasional glitches and one or two crashes (only one in mine). Now, with that out of the way, let me put this into perspective.
If you're interested in a game that clearly defines what a walking simulator should and hopefully will do, this is the game for you. It's well built, the world feels alive (for the most part), the characters are relatible though take some time to get used to, and there's never a part of the game where you have to truly rush (though it'll feel like you have to several times over).
I'll be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of walking simulators, but the story from start to finish had me hooked, the world was interesting, and there's a decent amount of exploration along the way to feed your curiosity. I'd say, if you're looking for something down-to-earth that you can take your time with exploring and learning about the characters' realities, than this game is for you.
Only downside (at least for me) is that I often felt "boxed in" due to the inability to climb, though from a development standpoint, it makes sense why they had to limit it to walking and "places you can climb"
8/10
