Spent most of the 20 minutes trying to find out how to actually quit the game, ended up force closing using Steam.

It can't even quit right

Early Access Review
The best €2,19 I've spent in my entire life.

The game starts off simple, you walk around as your character automatically flails his whip, as you kill a few bats and you pick up the blue XP gems you level up and you get to choose between three random upgrades, you might be able to upgrade your whip (making it flail in two directions) or you've got 3 other choices.

As you play you'll learn what works for you and what to ignore, rinse and repeat, easy!

The fun starts when you learn that you can unlock entirely new skills, characters and in turn evolutions of your skills.

See, when you die you lose all your levels, and so all your skill s will be reset for your next run, but depending on what you did during your last run you might permanently unlock new skills.

An easy example is the garlic, simply pick up 5 chickens (Healing items) and after death you'll notice you've unlocked garlic, during your next run that will be part of the skillpool you get to choose from everytime you level up. There are many items like this, enjoy going after them all!

You also unlock characters which will each start the game with their own skill.

Not everything is lost upon death though, during your runs you also pick up gold, you get to keep all your gold and purchase permanent passive upgrades that will be activated in every run you play, giving the game a sense of progression that is rare these days.
(Even WITH all the roguelikes around tbh..)

There's more to talk about, like evolving your skills but you'll learn about that yourself.

Now stop reading reviews and buy the game :')
It's cheaper than two energy drinks and it'll last you much longer
