The graphics are fine.
The sound effects are fine.
The controls are somewhat OK.

But the main problem is the soul. The puzzles have no soul. I felt like I clicked things just to end the game. I'd much rather recommend the Room games or the Da Vinci games.

There are much better (and free) incremental / idle games out there.

The "game" is extremely boring. Don't be fooled by the playtime, I literally fell asleep and the game was on until the next day. I pushed myself since I read it would be over in about 90 minutes, and I was relieved once it was.

I played the game with a friend. The game is really short, the puzzle are somewhat easy and definitely unrewarding. After finishing it, I can't in good consience recommend it to others.

The game is rather short; it took 2.7 hours on Expert difficulty with no usage of in-game help mechanisms. The story could be more fleshed out. There are some interesting ideas but they fall short, or perhaps seems that way in late 2021.

Updating my review from 10 years ago: The enhanced version now does have the soundtrack. Quake 2 is one of the best games in gaming history. Keeping the old review here:

The steam version doesn't contain Quake 2 music files. If you are looking to buy Quake 2 (which is a great game), don't do it on Steam. You'll miss out on an awesome soundtrack and the game atmosphere won't ever be the same.

Adds nothing to the TD genre. Don't waste your time.
