Fragpunk being free isn’t a selling point—it’s a warning label. This isn’t a game; it’s a digital punishment you don’t even have to pay for, yet somehow you’ll still feel robbed. Robbed of time, robbed of joy, robbed of the gigabytes you wasted downloading this neon-soaked catastrophe. Imagine a shooter so bad that “free” becomes an insult to the concept of charity.
The gameplay is a slogging mess that makes you question why you bothered installing it. Controls are so unresponsive you’d think your inputs were mailed to the server via carrier pigeon. Shooting feels like flinging soggy paper towels at enemies with hitboxes that teleport just to spite you. The lag is so bad you’ll die to opponents who aren’t even on your screen yet—perfect for a game that’s supposedly “fast-paced” but moves like a sloth on sedatives.
The punk aesthetic? A shallow, try-hard gimmick. It’s all garish colors and spiky haircuts, like a Hot Topic clearance rack threw up on a generic FPS template. The characters are walking clichés with dialogue so bad it’s like they hired a bot to write it—oh wait, even I’d do better than that. The music’s a grating loop of wannabe rebel anthems that sound like they were ripped from a landfill of rejected punk-rock demos.
Bugs? This game’s got more glitches than a haunted floppy disk. I fell through the map in my first match, got stuck in a wall in the second, and watched the UI flicker like it was having a seizure. The textures load in late, the AI enemies are dumber than rocks until they randomly one-shot you, and the menus lag like they’re running on dial-up. Free or not, this level of jank is unforgivable.
Multiplayer’s a wasteland of cheaters and disconnects. Matchmaking takes eons, only to pair you with some script-kiddie who headshots you through walls. The player base is already dwindling because even free can’t trick people into sticking around for this torture. Single-player? Don’t make me laugh—there’s no story, just “shoot stuff because punk,” except it’s too broken to even enjoy that.
Fragpunk proves that you get less than what you pay for. It’s not worth the download time, the storage space, or the electricity to run it. It’s a free-to-play scam that preys on your curiosity and punishes you with mediocrity. Do yourself a favor: skip this disaster and spend your bandwidth on cat videos instead. At least those won’t crash mid-watch.
