Other reviews explain it better. Beta was fun, first impressions were good, but each update counters that. You spend your time in this game grinding challenges and milestones with inflated numbers that move you out of the way of playing the objective in different gamemodes. You will be tossed around gamemodes you don't even want to play, including BR and BR adjacent, just so you can get the points to complete the Battle Pass. The weapon rewards are in the free path, something is something I guess, but no one escapes the grind if they want the content in the game they already paid for. Now with California Resistance update we have limited time event, gamemode and a shotgun, miss these 20 days and you miss the weapon and the gamemode.

Quick summary: you will be playing for arbitrary challenges, your team will be doing the same. Any gamemode, any map. Each update lays a new layer of tedious grind so you cannot simply boot your favorite gamemode up and have some fun shooting things, capturing points, and pushing with your teammates.
