I like the general theme of this game. A talking donkey, evil cultists, dark humor, interesting characters. It felt like an adult version of Harvest Moon. If you like excessive grinding and crafting this game will definitely be a good choice. I had a good time playing this.

The early game was quite overwhelming. You do have many options on crafting, farming and skills. You get a sh*tload of tasks and nobody is ever gonna tell you what exactly to do. Getting some oil for the donkeys cart was a real pain for me.
And after playing for 40 hours, more and more flaws were revealed to me. The crafting system is just really tedious and way too detailed to be fun on the long run. The quests, which are mostly fetch quests, are bound to NPCs which only appear on certain days during the game. So prepare for a lot of waiting. During the end game I found myself doing nonsense crafting just to deplete my stamina so I could sleep and fast forward time. Repeating this for almost 2 ingame weeks, just to keep the questline going.

So overall I can respect the work and detail they put into this game. And I love it for the theme of a darker fantasy Harvest Moon. But in the end it could still use some quality of life improvements to be a lot less frustrating.

+ Donkey
+ dark humor
+ working a morgue
+ raising zombies
+ crafting
+ skill trees
+ interesting world and characters

- waiting
- grindfest
- no easy way of time progression
- NPCs bound to certain days
- farming is not satisfying enough

I discovered this gem of a game way too late. As a huge fan of the Souls-Bourne-Sekiro-Genre I can straightforward recommend this game. You will get a Sci-Fi-Souls with a fast paced combat system, as the game encourages you to jump, sprint, and dodge attack through your enemies.

There is a satisfying amount of melee and ranged weapons, which you can easily combine to adapt your playstyle even further. I like wielding big a** weapons and so I sticked to the column. Just smashing everything into the ground felt really satisfying.

My first playthrough was completely blind. I am glad I made no use of any guides or wikis. This way I was able to discover this new mysterious world all on my own. What are these strange HUD elements? What is this clock thingy in the corner? And why is it flashing red at some points? It really adds to the game experience not knowing wtf is going on and unravelling everything piece by piece.

Yes, the graphics are quite common and the game areas lack a bit of "life" and seem quite empty. But overall I got a game well worth my money and Im longing for Hellpoint 2 somewhere in the future.

Beware if you are a Souls Veteran. I found most parts of the game quite easy, even in NG+++. Although you can increase or decrease the difficulty during the game with certain items, I never felt the need to do so.

Some people are complaining about the jumping passages and how it seems not possible to aim jumps precisely. I would say these seem to be people with the motor skills of brick ;). It sure takes a bit of time to get used to the jumps but I found it quite easy to do so. Besides most of the passages are pretty fair in their design.

pros
- able to revive certain bosses and battle them over and over again whithout the need for entering NG+
- very nice Co-Op system, although I rarely found some game to join in
- smooth and fast combat
- good amount of weapons and upgrade capability
- cool and usefull boss weapons
- nice environmental changes depending on the black hole

cons
- somewhat empty game world
- ok graphics, no real eyecatcher
