Been playing from 2013, basically the story goes this game and stay out ARE THE SAME GAME with the same paint using the same project after the dev team split and essentially killed the playerbase for both games. You basically choose what coat of paint and dead series of maps you enjoy more.
I will say online.stalker(szone) is an anomoly of a game designed for an engine that was never intended for what it does, however it is a laggy mess and a relic of a bygone era. Almost a single player game at this point due to low player count and large map sizes. Little redeems either project at this point, as it exists to collect pennies from players, just look at their website shop for example, things are itemized down to penny level microtranactions for single use consumable buffs.

You may have fun in the world it tries to continue to build but that ship has sailed for me and a majority of the player base nearly a decade ago with first wipe, where it all went to crap.

The beta was alot better. Then this happened.

The three wipes that I have been through are more then a testimant to how long ive played. The game was great at one time, when it was known as Online Stalker, but large change, after large change have causes massive neglect to very key elements of the game. This game would be an example of better changes for the end game players, and worse ones for newbies. With the removal of all of the Kino music, it has lost most of it's charm, and I feel like im playing something with much missing.
The game has a heavy P2W element in terms of PVP and PVE, where the gear is noticably better when you purchace it. The meta remains autoshotguns, and always will be, untill the hitboxes on Verloka/Ghoul are fixed.

I continually hope that this game gets better. However it falls short. With the update to release on steam, it feels like the devs sold out the beta. The game feels highly generic.
I have played sence open beta. Nearly a thousand hours. When I saw the massive pay to win walls they implimented, my heart sunk. To unlock the next frame, you must fully level the one you currently have. Meaning your doing the same thing nine or more times. Heaven for bid they de-rank your frames from max to zero three times like most of us.
