I really wanted to like this game. It looks amazing and I'm all for some fanservice pandering (it's why I bought it in the first place), but even a fanservice game is still first and foremost a game, and as a game this just frankly plays like ass. Other reviewers have explained better than I can why this game is a bad beat'em-up, but it just doesn't feel fun at all for me to play.

That said, I'll try to at least explain my main grievances with the gameplay:
- Enemies having invincible frames on wake-up, and usually with very quick wake-up attacks, makes it so you can't pre-emptively attack them on wake-up and feels extremely cheap.
- Enemies also frequently have super armor or invincible attacks that are very hard to counter/avoid, especially when fighting multiple enemies.
- The Block button is so unresponsive it might as well not be there. It feels like it has start-up frames or something, and it also does not interrupt your attacks. If you're in the middle of a combo and you see an enemy preparing an attack, you'd expect the Block button to immediately drop your combo and block, but that's not what happens, instead you have to wait for the entire wind-down of your current attack animation, then the wind-up of the block animation, and then you've already been hit. The only way to actually block anything is to be completely still, facing the enemy, pressing the block button even before the enemy attacks, and then you'll still get hit anyways by the other enemy attacking you from behind.
- Bosses are all the issues above turned to 11: extremely cheap movesets, super armor, tons of invincibility frames, moves that are both unblockable and very hard to dodge. Fighting these bosses alone would already be a chore, but all of them are always accompanied by two infinitely respawning regular enemies making every boss fight an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
- The special bar is very quick to deplete and very slow to recharge, and it even depletes when blocking / escaping grabs, so you're often completely defenseless. Also, at least for me, the small special gauge tucked in the corner made it pretty hard to keep track of how much charge I still have with all the chaos on-screen and I'd often try to use specials when I couldn't and get punished for it.

Overall it just felt like the game was constantly bullshitting me, it was a very unfun kind of challenge. It really is a pity because the game visuals are absolutely fantastic, and I'd certainly put up with a mediocre game for those visuals; but this game doesn't even reach mediocrity, it's just plain bad.

Great little indie fighting game, but I will never stand for any kind of censorship, especially when it's removing content that was the main reason that got me and so many others interested in the game in the first place.
