hopefully not the last hurrah of the legendary Ace Combat series, but if it is, it's a hell of a title to go out on.

used to love grindy portable coop games like this when I was a teenager. a shame about this version not actually having the coop but it's absolutely my jam. I missed games like this.

Shin Megami Tensei III (MANIAX) is a game I can recommend any day, and for that I'll still hit "recommend" for my review. The port on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired. It's certainly a hack job. Shoddily upscaled FMVs, inferior demon soundbites from the original, hell I even prefer the localization script of the original PS2 release. Unless you need the convenience (or Dante having pierce heh) I'd recommend the PS2 version of Maniax over this any day. despite all this, Nocturne is still a legend no matter how you play it

this crazy ass adaptation of the Book of Enoch has to be seen to be believed. have a little patience (it really picks up in the second half) and mind a crash or two and everything will be daijoubu.

really bad artifacting during certain attack animations. will personally be avoiding this port.

a very nice port of one of the most unique titles to grace the DS library. constantly goes on deep discounts and is also a common inclusion in bundles. absolute no-brainer purchase. I fully recommend it.

not the best storytelling rpgs have to offer, but it's a very fun battler with some interesting mechanics to play around with.

extremely charming sounds and visuals from this one. very good indie shmup.

smooth, snappy strategy gameplay. lots of team building options between all of the individual races/classes you can recruit and even the equipment you can give them. hell, even status effects were actually pretty strong. big fan of that.
man, I was hooked. hell of a game.

gorgeous visuals. tough as nails. fun platforming designed around every decision being a commitment of some kind. it's very good and I wholly recommend it.
