An approachable take on the sub game, Cold Waters has a learning curve that can leave you slightly frustrated your first couple times out but won't grind you down. Once you have the hang of its systems, it's a game that rewards intelligent play and will catch your cutting corners. Sailing back into port at the end of a successful campaign will leave you feeling good, or wondering what you can do next time to be even better.

Make sure to start in the modern era, however, as the more primitive technology available in the early Cold War era is definitely meant to be a challenge for experienced players.

Simply the best singleplayer FPS campaign in the last few years. Seriously, it's absolutely as good as you've heard and absolutely worth your time on that alone. I wish it were a bit longer, but that's just me.

Alongside the campaign's high-quality level design and writing, the gameplay itself is tight and fun and the visuals are a treat. Give this one a shot.

Battletech is that game, the mech strategy game you've been looking for. If you've been a fan of the genre, it's been a long time waiting for something that checks all the right boxes the way Battletech does. Cheers to HBS for getting it so right, hope they continue to roll.
