I have been wanting this game for the longest time, it was 70% off, how could i say no
and I regret getting it, in a good way mind you. Because I sunk 8 hours into this game after getting it.
and I'm gonna sink even more time into it.
I can only really recommend it if it's on sale cause the dlc are really overpriced for what you get in them to be honest.

Don't let the thumbs down give you the wrong idea, this game is FUN, it's entertaining, I put in lots and lots and lots of hours in Helldivers 1. BUT none of my friends want to touch a game with a Kernel Mode Anti-cheat because it's a dangerously invasive and unsafe anti-cheat on a PVE game. And frankly after learning about this myself I'm half tempted to uninstall this game. Please consider some other kind of anti-cheat or something. I want to be able to play this game with my friends but none of them trust this Kernel anti-cheat.
I'll change my review if this ever changes because again, its FUN, but the Kernel Mode Anti-cheat kills it for a lot of people because they aren't as dumb and trusting as me.

Don't pass this game up please, pick it up and give it a try. Every game now a days has to be challenging, it has to be life or death action, even a wrong step can land you falling victim to an over powered monster, pvp has you upset at balancing, every game has rpg aspects 100 skill skilltree that you need to grind for, npcs who are dying, or whatever.
But this game is a breath of relaxing stress free air, full of action of it's own style, no real stress to worry about.
Just wholesome, feelsy, friendly fun and enjoyment here, no stress past this point.

Update: yeah, they barely gave this game a chance and it shut down after such a short runtime. they've been doing this with all Gundam games it seems and its starting to feel like just cash grabs anymore. Glad I didn't spend any money on cosmetics, else i'd feel very ripped off.

I followed the game for a while during development, I was worried that it would become over hyped and underwhelming.
I was w r o n g.
The controls are simple enough that you won't give yourself a headache learning them while playing, and gameplay itself is not as complex as I thought it would but but its a story telling game, that allows you to explore in a semi-linear way. I expected to be shoved onto a single path, and while there is just a path, it's more of a nudge, a more of a "you need to go here but explore a little along the way, take in the view, immerse yourself." way. Without spoiling anything, I was hoping for a different ending as it feels kinda open ended on the cat's end, yet at the same time it was very VERY satisfying to play though. will i play through again? yes, there were things i didn't get on my last run to reveal more information so I would like to find these things and obtain that information. Was it worth buying? oh HECK YES it was.

This game still holds up in 2022, you may need a dedicated group of people who play this but there are still people playing! The group of people I play with still run into random players that join our matches!

I remember why I stopped playing. Screw this game.

I have played this again and again with a friend and i've had bad experience with early access games but this brought my hopes back, mostly backed it because of RWBY but dang it was sooooo worth it
the graphics make you feel like it's just like the show, the characters do feel kind of similar but they all still play well but I still prefer my favorite blake, would be epic to see more character choices later on and definitely look forward to anything and everything else they bring out for this game. I would indeed recommend this game to everyone who loved the show.

Now don't let the Thumbs down fool you, for what it /was/ it was a great aspiration for a good survival zombie game. They were doing good on it but the community has been let down with this game being "put on a backburner" so they can work on other titles due to this one being too much to handle for the time being.
The game overall has many bugs and unstability issues but they were working on fixing them the best they can, the idea however and some of their mechanics were really great. I loved the door mechanics and the baracading mechanics and how you could move around furniture. all these were amazing ideas and concepts.
But I do NOT recommend this game until it's back in devolopment.
