Haiku, the Robot is a fun, perfectly designed, metroidvania.
Inspired by games like Hollow Knight, Metroid, delivers a fun experience, in a well-designed world! What stands out:

1) movement | 2) characters and narrative | 3) exploration
Cool design choice: spare parts!

1 - Movement

Haiku feels like a mixture of Hollow Knight and Metroid. Well, certainly not as challenging as Hollow Knight!
While combat was fun, what I really liked was using the movement abilities while moving in the world.
Using the graple hook, rolling ability and jetpack just made traveling a very fun experience!

2 - Characters and Narrative

Again, the structure of the story reminded me of Hollow Knight. A mysterious character shows up at relevant moments of the story; you have to pursue three specific Beings, and deal with them to progress.
But the best part were the interesting side characters around the world, with their own stories, creating a cool immersive environment to interact with.

3 - Exploration

Exploring this world was a great, great experience. This feeds directly from the previous points about movement and characters.
Going through this world meant finding pleasant areas where you had to use all your movement abilities. It also meant meeting new people and finding little bits of lore. Pure fun, if you ask me!

4 - Spare Parts: managing resources

Haiku takes an interesting take on currency and healing resources: they are the same. Want to buy stuff? Use spare parts; want to heal? Use spare parts.
This complexifies some parts of the game: you have to prepare for boss fights, think if you have enough parts.
This was a very fresh take and one of my favorite gimmicks.

Haiku, the Robot, is set in a kind of dystopian, post-apocalyptic world. Imagine if someone had the great idea of making a Hollow Knight meets Wall-E. That's what Mister Morris Games made!
And they executed it perfectly!

And you know what? There are easter eggs related to both of these universes. So get the game and explore it all!
