+It's free - Coop is in the name! You can play with friends!
+You can use steam to host a peer to peer server, no need for fussing with routers.
+You can play all the original Half Life campaigns, such as Half-life, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Decay, etc.
+You don't need to own any of the Half Life games, its included in the game.
+Can toggle between 'vanilla' assets or the upgraded Sven Coop remodels of weapons
+There's modded servers for fun, you'll find plenty of people in the game, either doing custom campaigns or vanilla servers.
+The game has a built in music player so you can play music in the game and control it, skip, pause, etc.

-Still uses an old voip, you can hear people but you will need to make your microphone louder locally in recording settings.
-Creative mischievious individuals can still grief people, such as shooting spores to teamkill players or body blocking people. In most circumstances, you can probably votekick them.

Although not necessarily a negative, you will tend to find a lot more juvenile players due to the game being free. Of course, you are capable of muting obnoxious players voice chat in the esc menu, under the players tab.

Overall, the game is free, and it is extremely fun to play with friends, or even strangers. Give it a try. There's no harm in trying when it costs nothing.

Great 2 mini-games, Pazaak and Swoop Racing.
