in my normal run, I got to stage 9-10 completely decked out and had to wait for the game to finish by reaching stage 16. I was killing asteroids and enemies while they were still offscreen. There was nothing else for me to do but just wait for more than an hour.

in my second you start with no ressources, just your core. you need to be lucky to get crates to drop refined ore to build your research. The first crate gave me green ore that I could not use. The second crate gave me only enough to research the refinery, but not enough to build one. Then I died because my basic 1 damage from my cursor was not enough to defend agains all the asteroids.

Then I decided I had enough.

So I'm not a big fan of beat them up. The last one I truely enjoyed was TNMT: Turtles in Time on the SNES.

This being said, I can't put this game down. It's just so fun, The combination with roguelite mechanics, the art direction, the music. This game freaking rocks! It's got the "just one more run" feeling to a T!

Cool DLC bogged down (Pun intended) by a lots of bugs included in the DLC.

Wait until they've been patched

A bit of info before we go in: I played Hollow Knight. I completed the White Palace and stopped short at Radiance. I beat the Grimm Troupe but simply skipped the pantheon fights.

Now about Silksong:

It's too damned hard! enemies hit too hard and have too much health. Contact damage dealing on bosses dealing 2 damage even when they are stunned is just crazy. Now don't get me wrong, I love me a game that provides a challenge, but this feels like the begining of Silksong is harder than the end of Hollow Knight. The enemies track you way too well and are able to snipe you in the air super easy.

Now I'm thinking, let's leave this boss for now and go explore a bit... and 5 minutes into exploration, ANOTHER BOSS! Combat challenges everywhere! The stress just does not leave. The game does not give you a single break. I gotta make myself my own break by quitting and doing something else. But when I come back, I'm just apprehensive because I know that I'm just before a boss and I'll have to die and retry another 50 times before I progress.

When I started today I fought the boss: Widow, took me 30-45 minutes. Then I went to hunter's march, which felt easier than people said because I had some movement abilities to help. But then I got into a challenge fight with 2 bugs: the big one with an axe, and the flying one that throws spears. Took me an hour to beat. Then I went down into the chapel of the beast, and I kinda raged quit against the boss BeastFly..

Half the benches are behind a paywall and the (scarce) currency runs away from you. At one point I felt the need to grind for a bit in order to buy my maps because there was simply not enough currency.

I find myself not enjoying the game as much as I did Hollow Knight, but I really want to.

If you have DoW Anniversary edition up to Soulstorm, then do not buy this. It's not worth it.
It's the same game, same bug, same shoddy AI, crappy pathfinding. No AWSD camera.

Just a visual upgrade. That's it.

Seemed interesting at first, but it gets boring quick.

And then I managed to complete the first mission. Let's see what the second mission has in store... it's the exact same thing. Same objectives, same enemies but reskinned. Played almost 3 hours and it feels like I saw everything that this game has to offer.

Not worth the 10$ I paid for it.

When I was a teenager, I really wanted to play this game. I saw the trailer and some gameplay and I knew I wanted it. As I was buying a christmas gift for my brother, I considered buying it for him, but I ended up buying a hockey game for him instead (because I realised how selfish I was being, and I knew he would like the hockey much more). And then I kinda forgot about the game for many years.

Now I almost 40 and I see this on Steam, only 6 bucks. Hey it's my chance to play it now! So I break my virtual piggy bank and shell out 6 canadian dollars, download and boot up the game.

This game... hasn't aged very well. The writing is a cringefest, The father of the first protagonist is an alcoholic mysogynist, and just a general ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Everyone else is just bland. The gameplay is stiff and janky, even by the standards at the time.

After 5 hours I was done.
