Great game! Haven't played a lot yet.. But it's beautiful and already extremely expansive. Ton's of techs to research. However, I think the tutorial, story and GUI/UI can use some work. game is kinda complicated with not much direction at the moment.. so your kinda just thrown in lost... and the controls(menu) are kinda confusing. There is like 8 menu buttons that are all not tied together for inventory, tech/skills, mask skills, clan skills..etc..

Also, Needs support for controllers. Hopefully this will be down the line as well.

Looking forward to seeing what the devs do with this game!

In all seriousness; I played pokemon as a kid growing up in the 90s with my old gameboy. I always had hoped they would expand it in a meaningful way. Except my dreams of that never came true. Every pokemon game up until some of the recent ones all had slightly better graphics than the first with very few new features. It was good when it was all we had. But it became old. I had always wished growing up that some would also make a more "mature" creature collector game like pokemon and when i first saw the teaser trailer for this game years ago. I thought my dream has come true.. but i also honestly thought that it was an april fools joke. Especially the pals having weapons. Than outta nowhere I get a notification on steam "Palworld has entered early access" I about died.. I have never thrown my wallet faster at a monitor than that.. it was faster than I have ever done for any of the steam summer or winter sales. Sadly it took a bit of time as I had to write my CC info but i finally clicked checkout and had it in my account.. now i just needed to download it and spend an agonizing 3 hours for it to download while cheering on my pc to go faster like a highschool cheerleader for her football team. Sadly, it didn't quite make it go faster. But I did learn a very valuable life lession. A grown 30+ 250+ male can't fit into a cheerleaders uniform. Nevertheless I carried on. It was finally done downloading!!! I booted it up and started my world. I was greeted with pals left and right that I could catch, weapons, farming, crafting, survival, everything I ever wanted in a pokemonesque game. It was great! My hours do not accurately represent my playtime as I played singleplayer in offline mode for quite some time before transitioning to multiplayer. But, its been a great and wild ride. All I can ask from this company is that they stick with this game. Please be like the No Mans sky developer and release us big updates and surprises. We will be loyal to you like to them. Treat your players great and we will in return reward you greatly.

Some things I am hoping come to the game before the end of early access

1: More pals.. gotta cat..I mean gotta trap them all!

2: maybe implement evolutions to each pal? Slightly cooler variations as you evolve them would be nice

3: more rare types of pals with diff color schemes, attacks, etc..

4: more weapons. Id like to see swords, more bows, etc..

5: every pal can have a weapon of some sort. But maybe do a gear system instead so you have to craft normal weapons you can use but if you've unlocked the corresponding research for that pal. You can equip that weapon to that pal in interesting, unique or maybe satire/funny type of way. Doesn't have to be releastic. Just fun :) maybe even give your pals armor too and other equips like you can for a player. It'd make pve and pvp more fun and challanging

6: weather. It'd be nice to have weather like storms, (rain, snow, fog, etc..) similar to how icarus does weather. It'll add to the survival aspect and you can even have certain pals only come out during certain types of weather

7: maybe vehicles. Yes you can mount pals. But id like to see some actual vehicles like motorcycles, helicopter, tank? etc.. something i can park and leave rather than desummoning my mount every time

8: please oh please allow us to summon more than one pal. It'd be cool if we can have up to 2 or even 3 pals per player summoned at any time.

9:... theres a lot more to my "wishlist" but I'm so thankful to the devs of this game for making my childhood and adult wish come true. I just hope its not squandered and that they continue to improve and update this game. As well as delivering us maybe in the future a couple of expansions, DLC or palworld 2? Time will tell.. but they could really make a competitor to pokemon that just doesn't have to exist soley in a video game. Movies, TV Shows, Card game.. think BIG!

All game studios and devs listen up.. THIS is what you call a AAA GAME!

This is a 10/10 game in my book!

The developers of this game were true fans to Harry Potter universe and it shows- the accurate depiction of Hogwarts true to the books and movies The amount of quality and love that went into this game- it is like the Witcher 3 but in the Harry Potter universe. I can't wait to have more time to play this game in-depth as well as see what this developer comes up with next. I also have been playing since the 7th and have experienced very few issues(bugs) with the game. I wholeheartedly recommend this game!

I do not normally review games. But, this game is great! I do not have a fair amount of play time. However, I can tell I will be playing this game a long time.

Reminds me of a 2D Scottish version of "The Guild 2" mixed with Rim World, The Sims and Crusader Kings gameplay mechanics.

Can't wait to see what the developers further develop in this game! :-)

Great game so far... has LOTS of promise!

It feels like a Swat 4 successor- I would definitely buy or, at least put it on your Radar.

a couple of things I think would make this game better.

-a LOT more maps (Banks, Apartments, School, Office Buildings, Theater, etc..)
-More GameModes
-Variations of Entry on maps- Selecting where you want to deploy or go
-Marksman Team in maps that can support (ala Swat 4)
-Ability to turn electricity/lights on/off within a map
-More Gadgets that fit current SWAT today. (Camera RVs, Bomb Disposal Robot, Drone, etc..)
-Ability customize each map / map mode. (enemy numbers, friendly numbers, behavior, weapons, etc..)
-Ability to further customize weapons/loadout. i.e: scopes on weapons, flashlights, etc..
-Ability to Customize Teammates (Names, Gender, Loadout, Look, etc..)
-SP Campaign with story missions

There are some more nit picky ideas.. But, the ones above I think would put it a step above the Swat Series.

I love Microsoft Flight Simulator. However, I do not love the downloader... instead of patching changes files they make you pretty much redownload the entire game for every update.

Wow... just Wow.... Buy it!

Edit: I think I found my new favorite game...
