As of the end of 2024, GSC Game World has patched the game into a good enough state to be worth its asking price. There are features still missing from the original trilogy, but STALKER 2 still manages to be a mysterious and frightening open-world experience full of life-or-death combat.

The game itself offers a breathtaking template of The Zone for modders to work with in future years and I look forward to seeing the massive overhauls we all know and love from the original games remade in this new Unreal Engine 5 adaptation of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

I'm not even someone who cared about the new voice actors or removal of "certain dialogue". The game just won't stop crashing no matter what the settings are changed to. Refunding.

With thousands of hours in COH2, it's sad to see that yet another modern day gaming release is botched. A trend becoming way too increasingly common. Feels like 90% of games these days you buy, then sit around waiting for the actual game to be completed a year later. At least PC players can refund.

The UI in this game is its biggest downfall and makes for an unenjoyable experience. Can't select basic features like what difficulty of AI you want to fight against when matchmaking. Can't tell which team member is which, since it doesn't list the unit owner's names when you click on them or their base. Basic stuff from COH2 is missing. Also the extremely small amount of multiplayer maps is disappointing.

I'll change this review to positive once RELIC, like most gaming companies this decade, gets around to finishing their "released" game.

It's okay but the crafting can be a pain in the butt.

Los Angeles: "Ahhhhhh, nostalgia."

Paris: "These races are challenging, but fun!"

Tokyo: "How did I ever manage to beat this as a kid?"

The amount of content and detail in this game is incredible. It feels like 10+ years ago where you actually received a complete package when you purchased a game instead of having to buy multiple pieces in order to complete the experience.

If you don't become deviant and take your freedom by force, then you aren't playing this right.

For the first time in a long time I am actually sad that a game has ended. Days Gone has left me wishing there was more and that the story would go on forever. Deacon St. John is a lovable character which the player will share many highs and lows with over the course of this 60+ hour journey. All of the characters in the game feel believable and are easy to connect with on an emotional level far better than anything even in cinematography. It's a relief that Bend Studio chose to give this game a happy ending with closure, rather than the cliche and overused trope of a bittersweet ending that far too many game developers go with these days. Even though Sony has axed any chance of a sequel as of 2019, one can only hope that someday Bend Studio is given the green light to produce a follow-up to this story of resilience and love that I'll always remember.

Game has aged poorly. Once you get to chapter 5 and beyond it is no longer fun on professional even with infinite ammo guns unlocked. Play the Wesker/Jill fight on professional if you'd truly like to throw your keyboard across the room.
