Fun free game, def worth a try

So first things first, its a tech demo. Calling it a game is a stretch. But for a tech demo on a new engine it is really good. There is not much content rn and its a bit unstable however the new engine is actually really good. Way more scalable and removes a lot of the old limits for arma 3. If this is what arma 4 will be based on its looking good.

wait until it's fully out but a very good dnd based game

After 200 hours in this game I would have to recommend it and I think the final reason why is because I got it for free. Yes the game isn't perfect, in fact its the worst game I've played in terms of bugs, server performance, balancing, general competence in game design. Out of the seven friends I started playing the game with, only 1 remains. A lot of the matches have been ridiculous in terms of balancing player skill, resulting in our team being completely destroyed. There have been many times were I've had to walk away from the game for a month or so due to its design. Sometimes due to networking issues the in game mechanics become unusable with the match being unplayable.

Yet I'm still playing the game 200 hours later. There's something about this game which they've done correctly. Once you embrace the salt and edginess that is this game it becomes a relatively good time, mostly. If you have a couple of friends who don't get angered easily, some good tunes and around 20 hours to learn the character you're playing this game is a fun casual experience. Once you know the character it's a an easy drop in drop out game where you can either play a couple of matches or spend all night playing. Due to the way matchmaking is done you're either against people you're ten times better then or ten times worse then. But the satisfaction of killing someone ten times in a row is much more powerful than the frustration of being killed ten times in a row.

I would rate this game a solid 7/10. Just play with an open mind, try not to take it too seriously and embrace the meme that is this game.

Good potential but no updates yet which is not good, combat is very different which is a good part of this game however I would not recommend this game, last update was almost a year ago and it seems like a dead game.

If this game gets updates then i would recommend however it doesn't seem to do don't buy until it gets updates.

Other than that 10/10

Edit (2019): It's been like a year or something since I wrote this review, yes the update in the comments did come and it did bring extra content, levels and items. The update is really good but there has only been one. Would recommend but you wont be getting a full version of it. With the title of early access i had hoped there would be more development. Buy this if you want a really good half a game which you can play for 10 hours.

Edit November (2020): This game is still being updated, in its most recent update there was a whole bunch of new mechanics added in, I think the actual engine is almost there

Edit June (2021): This game shows continued support, most of the major elements have been added and shows signs of completion. Really would recommend this game now. Every now and again I tend to check in to see the progress and there is progress. So yeah in summary this game is now worth the buy, if everything in my initial review/other reviews sounds like it'd be the sort of game one would enjoy.
