Early Access Review
This game had so much potential, and as an early alpha adopter of KSP 1, I was prepared to wait, try each update, and enjoy its gradual growth.

Take 2 should be sued for damages in miss-old product, and false advertising. This game is nowhere near done, in a terrible condition and yet they decided to fire the entire development team.

Steam should reimburse everyone who had purchase the game under the promise of its final features, which as of 05/072024, have not and will not be added.

A word to the wise on buying indie games and large publishers games alike - just because the first was a success, doesn't mean the second will be genuine or as successful.

My heart goes out to the development team who did what they could despite an unqualified publisher and management. I hope you can do to KSP what cities skylines did to simcity.

I like this game. It has so much potential and the devs keep giving us new characters to play with and new killers! They also keep constantly adding new balances and try to make things work jsut right.. so why the bad review?

Hackers. Exploits. Farming.

As soon as you become a good player at this your upping ranks pretty quick, but the minute you pass rank 12, nearly every game will be either a farmer, a hacker, or an exploiter. Im sure they are trying to do something about this but quite frankly its just not enough!

If someone gets caught cheating, perma ban them! Dont give em a kick.. BAN THEM! Its like playing a cod game 4 years later, just hacking 12 year olds and constant deranking.. to give you context, I just played 4 games with my flatmate this evening;- 3 of which were broken because of hacking or exploits. 1 was ok but i got hooked and because someone disconnected and two others were nearby being chased, i didnt get unhooked in time.. it happens but meh.

So to summarize, Great game, full of cancerous players. 6/10

OVERAL VERDICT: Got a refund -_-

How do I start this?

Gameplay was choppy and though im running it on a gtx 1070 and its installed on an ssd with 32gb ram to keep it going behind all that, it still was getting increments of fps drop downs to as 5 fps!! For a game 6 years old that tells me one thing: bad optimisation.

Furthermore, the tutorials are too much.. what happened to the good old need for speed styles of actual gameplay doing the talking not some cinematic polished animation and a cheesy sounding voiceover? EA has messsed this up a bitto say the least but the one plus side i would say is the visuals are wonderful, even to todays standards.

The car controls are terrible tho.. feels like a console port..

oh and GET RID OF DRM!

3/10

Rich concept, great quality content, beautiful visuals and an overall game that can really engage you.

I picked this game up after looking at the store page and thining "well, this could be good"... and so far I would have to say I am not dissappointed!

*NOTE* Steam says ive only logged 0.3 hours, Ive actually logged close to 5 hours.

The game seems to be filled with content and even after hours of playing, I have barely scraped the surface.

Word of advice though, this game is for the explorer,, or survivalist fan.. and if you like a challenge and to keep the fun, dont look at the wiki until much later... I made the mistake of looking soon and have spoilt most surprises =(

Hopefully one day they will implement a coop feature or some additional storyline because this is a game that is really enjoyable and worth sticking to for development.

Pros:

-Diverse Biomes really are diverse!
-Atmosphere and immersion is so strong you actually get scared on your first few hours (beware of the deep at night!)
-Runs really well on low graphcis cards! (im playing this smoothly on intel 400 graphics, below minimum recommended! )
-Devs seem to be working ahrd on adding a lot more content
-In game player stuff is beautiful!
-Sound track is wonderful and dynamic!

Cons (Small things mostly):

-Alpha so expect bugs and the occasional crash
-Some elements dont seem to spawn much (im talking about you, crazy exploding crash fish, gimme yo powder!!)
-Base building feels a bit limited for concent whilst building placement feels like the axis needs removing but retain snapping.
-Swimming feels limited in term of movement

*About that last point*

The movement of the player in subs feels excellent and the swimming animations are very well done (the team seems very talented), however it would be nice to go upside down or loop the loop etc, there seems to be some limitations for that sort of movement.. but who knows hopefully they wil implement it one day! :)

All in all its an 8/10 for me. The game just really delivers an experience worth the money. And I cannot see myelf getting bored of it anytime soon, not with the regular updates and great communication on things to come!

One of the greatest RTS games of the millenium, Supreme commander is considered by most to be the Crisis of strategy games, showcasing intense strategic gameplay and stunning graphics that for its time, were very advanced. In the mass opinion of Supreme Commander fans, this game far exceeds its sequel "Supreme Commander 2"- regarded as a very dumbed-down game due to its console port background.

Gameplay:
Using a combination of resource management, harvesting, and expansion, the player must use two basic resources to gain the tactical advantage over his enemies, and often his allies- Energy and mass. Whilst mass is used to construct buildings, and units, energy is partially used to run structures and some larger units too. Energy is consumed by the buildings based on tehir activity and is subject to fluctuation based on the energy generated and energy consumed. For example, if a player built a single energy generator, and then built a factory and set it on continuous production of troop transports (all tier 1), this would cause energy to drain massively as teh factory is using more energy than is being generated and/or stored...

Unit Classification:
Units can be divided into 3 classes with subsequent tiers. Tier 1 are the starting tech and are relatively weak albeit fast.
Tier 2 units are generally improved on all fronts except maneuvering speed in land cases and tier 3 are the same, the most noticable aspect of all being their damage increase and hitpoints. Air Units in thsi game have fuel tanks and if run out mid flight will crash land and die (quite realistic).
The three unit classes are Land, air and naval, each featuring an engineer that can use that terrain.

Experimentals:
An excellent Idea cenceived in this game was the expeerimental class (unnoficial tier 4). These units are so big, that it will take a while to construct one and require large amounts of resources whilst also being directly constructed without the use of a factory. (I recommend using quite a few negineer robots to manufacture one and make sure you can spare the enrgy for fabrication).
Some of the units range from collossal air units to enourmous walking land units to intimidating naval ships, all with their own capabilities and special features (i.e. large lasers, remote aircraft manufacture and storage).

Overall Impression:
Fantastic game, moderately additictive with graphics that even today, would make you gasp and potentially enourmous maps (some can be up to 1500 square kilometers). In debth resource management and decent tactical pathfindging make this game entertaining whilst also allowing decent if not slightly dated multiplayer co-op.
