I never understood the hate for this game, yes its not Dirt Rally 2.0 but man if you want a good career mode this has it. Main WRC series lets you completely build your car from the ground up with a solid livery editor from the Dirt games. You can adjust ai difficulty on the fly and graphics are pretty good.

It is not potato friendly but I assume with age this game will be looked back on fondly.

I just finished 100%ing the game and had fun for those 50+ hours.
I did 5 seasons in career and there is plenty more the game could have to offer but I easily had fun.

Great game for the casual fan, or just a great kids game. Controls are a bit wonky but they've always been for monster truck games. If you want a challenge you can max out the difficulty and hate life or you can be on easy mode and win everything. I have half the achievements in a few hours of just playing normally but there are some challenging ones to get. Sadly the game seems to be dead on steam, its very difficult to find people online.

I got it on sale for $35 and 100% is worth the money

Pros:
- Tons of trucks and additional liveries
- Difficulty levels for all ages and skill alike
- Fluid menu system
- Fast and well optimized game play and loading
- Profile customization is decent, I really appreciate the ability to showcase your favorite truck and their paint schemes chosen by the player
- Secondary objectives are not forced but present a good challenge and aids replay-ability

Cons:
- Repetitive gameplay but the scenery changes help as well as extreme modes and difficult secondary objectives
- If you lose control of the truck the physics will not help, it'll think youre trying to do a different trick
or it'll just throw you around aimlessly
- destructive objects may vary, that big iceberg you'll plow through, but that little tree will cost you your race
- no create-a-truck
- Hardly anyone to play online with making online achievements near impossible

Updated on 12/11/24 after several hours of gameplay more

Overall if its on sale I definitely say snatch it up, but don't expect to be able to hop into online lobbies. It is a great offline monster truck game to grind out and have fun.

I've been playing coop career since prelaunch with a friend and with recent updates, its massively improved but still a lot of little bugs, I'm Juan P. Montoya but the announcers call me Aiden Jackson. Meetings still dont function correctly and it gives you goals like dont use a flashback.. in a multiplayer career.

Its definitely to point where it is playable and fun but there are still many issues to fix, thankfully theyre getting small. I'd say pick it up at the first sale or the next update.

This is a massive improvement over 22 when it comes to physics and controller support. Much more customization in terms of setting up the controller and the addition of haptic support when using a PS5 controller on PC is a great plus. Breaking Point 2 without giving away too many spoilers is a little too easy but theatrically a major improvement and less on the cheese side and more of a good story. While everyone hated this in the previous title, I am confident it'll get better reception. Co-op career has gone without a hitch so far. There is a bug that known where cars are currently somehow stuck in realistic performance in career mode. That has already been addressed and I am sure that'll get patched with day 1 if not, the next patch. F1 World is.... interesting, its a new way of doing online multiplayer and I can't knock them for trying something new so I will hold my tongue until I get more hours on it, it seems like a great Idea but the pay to win will be its ultimate downfall.

Pros:
Revamped Multiplayer
Much more enjoyable Breaking Point
Ability to purchase suits, victory calls etc separately instead of waiting in podium pass
Physics overhaul is a win
Vastly increased controller support
Wheel force back improved
New menu is far more navigable
Servers seem decent in the pre-release
New tire model system
Noticeable graphical update

Cons:
Obvious bugs that do hinder some realistic performance of cars
Multiplayer pay to win
Further implementation of podium pass and buying items, albeit the the pro of this is not waiting in podium pass, it is a trade off but should be mentioned
Supercars, honestly I don't see their purpose especially with Breaking Point 2 and F2 in the game. I'd much much rather see F3 or even FE in the game over super cars.
Items from F1 22 that are in the game for suits, gloves, victory calls etc are the same and then locked via podium pass or pitcoin. The issue I have with this is that it could very well be something we earned or even purchased in the previous game that after spending another $70-$90 we have to buy the in game stuff again. That is just seen as malicious and greedy in terms of practice by the devs. A system that can check previously purchased / earned content, especially when its rehashed stuff like this, should be given to the user for free in the next game. Many titles do this like Trainz, as an example, they know the new game is slightly updated content with a big patch list and that the DLC / in game content is exactly the same. Their game can recognize previously purchased content and make it available again to the player. This is good practice. I am aware I'm asking EA of all people but hey. It should be a thing.

In summary is it worth it?

Yes, much less buggy than the previous game's launch with a vast amount of content.
Story mode, single and mutliplayer career, overhauled online, heavy league focus, quick race modes, time trials, 2022 F2 field with the 23 roster on the way and super cars. There is a lot to do both on and offline.
Lots of customization and things to enjoy with everything said above despite the cons, its an easy purchase.

I did this review at 8 hours and expect the game to pass over 100 easily just like the predecessors. Definitely one I'll be playing for a while with how good the physics are.

I'm not understanding the hate but maybe its because I didn't play the first one. Unbiased to that. If you used to play Sid Meier's Railroads, you will love this game, a lot of elements are identical, auctions, train planning, and few more things. Its great to waste time with a friend but I'd personally rather go head to head against my friend vs sharing a railroad and bank account. Hopefully that gets added in the future. Fun game if you seemingly haven't played the first. I'm enjoying. My friend is enjoying it, we're having fun and thats what matters.
No crashing, pretty stable

Multiplayer Pro's & Cons of just some things I noticed playing a few hours in.

Pro's:
Stable
Up to 4 players
Campaigns can be done with Co-op
Track laying planner helps plan across multiple friends
Can monitor and assist each others lines and upgrade them

Con's:
No PvP mode, only PvAi
having more than 1 friend in the lobby is definitely not fun early on
No color designation because youre on the same railroad, so its hard to tell whos trains are what later in game
Your rail road MUST connect, you can't just go off into another state and establish a separate railroad, the lines must connect

TLDR, if you love management games and single player careers, this game is for you, stop reading reviews and buy it, its more than playable enough to enjoy diving headfirst into it rather than waiting for patches.

Full Review
If you loved playing the EA Games for myTeam, this is it but on steroids.
You are in control of the car design choices (albiet it makes no actual visual changes), your main staff and who drives for the team. You also can upgrade your factories and personal buildings, a nice touch is that they are color coded to how they are in the my team career mode on the EA side.

Being that I played this on prelaunch there was no patch on 8-25, my only bugs that I really can complain about is some minor flickering but I assume that'll be fixed right away.

Expect to take a few hours to do a race properly if you want the best results early on, especially if you pick a team like Williams or Aston Martin. That being said you can also just take advice of your team and sim through the entire thing, its up to the player and I can appreciate that. Race day prep is a lot of fun, managing the two drivers across the same or various different plans *insert ferrari el plan joke here*, is just a lot of fun, weather does vary so it can be fun to gamble tires and pit timing, Miami I have found is just an absolute blast on this game regardless of how bad your team is.

I'm typing this at 10 hours of gameplay and expect this game to eventually reach my top 10 most played.
Great time passer and forces you to use your brain. Love it. 8/10 for me.

Pros:
Flexibility of time management
Proper day to day race preperations
Control over most several key aspects of an F1 team
Enjoyable for a new and veteran fan
Pleasing graphics
Sense of Accomplishment (difficulty is well balanced)
Player control of car design and research
Detailed but not overwhelming staff system
Accurate representation of FIA Rules for who can drive and who can do what in the team
Updated car designs across the board
Track surface variations based on weather and how much the circuit has rubber laid down

Cons: (detailed)
Sounds:
During on track time there are breaks in the engine noises, specifically the broadcast camera, if the timing was tightened up it would sound more fluid instead of having dead audio.
Even adding ambient sounds like cheering and fanfare when close to stands. Hearing rain and wind during inclement weather. Screeching during lock ups, would add a lot to the immersion. Without having to license sounds, having sound bites of the announcers on the menu's or the F1 themes over the years or so playing would be a nice touch as well. Just to add more variation.

Graphics: No Advanced Settings
Being that this is a PC games, for a game like Formula 1, having detailed graphical controls really does make sense, EA's game is a fantastic representation of advanced graphical settings. Some people can't stand certain features, for example I find motion blur to give me motion sickness, having the ability to turn that off would be nice.

Race Communication: lack thereof
Despite how detailed this game is in commands I am a bit surprised you cannot check in with your driver,
like on the EA games the driver (the player) can request weather updates, tire condition, car condition and other things. It would be cool if when there was a fault in the car (currently is just engine, ers and gearbox) would could manually tell the driver. A lot of the times there are faults like stuck DRS flaps or ECU problems that the teams can work on manually from the box. It could be cool if there was an option to repair these items, shorter the time of repair the less likely the repair would work as youre scrambling to manage the race. It would be another great element to the game to work with your driver and talk to the driver rather than just give him commands and receive occasional feedback from them.

Midrace saves: lack thereof
This is crucial being that these races are full races. I've had crashes with 3 laps to go and for the people that do these things entirely on 1x time, that will be very frustrating. It would be nice if progress was saved about every 5-10 laps so when it does inevitably happen, we don't have to redo our race.

1.08 Fixed a lot of the Ai issues for me, my team and my two player career is a lot more enjoyable. I just wish we could use the bonus tracks in career.
