To sum it up in one word - EPIC
Score: 9/10
Hands down the best money I've ever spent on a video game.

This game is a favourite of mine. It has flaws sure, but the good aspects more than make up for the bad imo. I got the bad ending on my first play through, I was so invested in the characters that I was quite literally crushed, it took me the best part of a week to be able to face the game again to play the DLC and go on to NG+. If becoming that invested isn't the sign of a great RPG, idk what is.

Good: The storytelling is supreme, writing is awesome, fabulous OST, immersion is second to none, attention to detail is impeccable and the amount of content is massive. New quest and Next-Gen update make it 16 completely free DLC's, yes free cos CDPR rock.

Bad: Combat/targeting and movement is a bit janky, not huge a problem on lower difficulties but on highest difficulty can be irritating at times (mainly in early game when things are far less forgiving). Some motion sickness potential requiring modding to fix (not able to fix head bob/stop wobble), NPC collision is an issue when assisting in combat, soundtrack is absolutely fantastic but not utilised even close to it's potential and inventory management (pet hate - wrecks immersion).

I played W1 and carried over a save into W2 which I then carried into W3. Choices/outcomes have carried over from those save imports and yes they do actually change the story and outcomes, I think this is awesome. I'm not going to spoil with examples, but there's loads of cool little easter eggs and unexpected things that pop in from time to time that show the level of detail and love that was put into the creation of the game. These "things" really add to the lore, storytelling and immersion. Geralt himself has loads of options of play style also, many ways to build him out using a select skill tree and loads of armour variations to facilitate the way you want to play. Base game in itself is massive, but add in the DLC (and NG+) and dang, you literally have several hundreds of hours of play.

If you haven't played this already, dooo eeet. Get the new complete edition with all the DLC and you will be entertained for ages. W3 in itself can be played as a stand alone game, but W1 and W2 are also very good to play beforehand as the stories do all tie together.

Also, if you haven't already...read the books (forget the TV show)! They are an awesome read plus give a whole new level of appreciation into why the The Witcher games are considered masterpieces by so many. Thank you Andrzej Sapkowski for the wonderful Witcher world, thank you CDPR for bringing it to life in such an honest and compelling way.
