For me this game first and foremost is a feeling of silent dread of the world that is abandoned and ending, which inspires the feeling of fleetingness of life. Through all the characters and epochs we witness the world decaying, as nothing actually mattered and is ready to meet the Void. At the same time we are reminded that the Cycle is unending and will start anew.

This game is my favorite among indie titles and not without a reason. Many talk about its unprecedented natural habitat simulation and dynamic animations, fluidness of movement, steep learning curve, art style, story and lore. For me its all of these things combined into something almost flawless as an experience. It might be not the best gaming you will ever get, even though its really solid and fun soon as you dive head first and submerge yourself properly. But it is The Experience.

It only got better with the Downpour. I cannot sing enough praises to the developers that worked on the DLC for so much time by their lonesome. Videocult is also to be commended as they worked towards bringing DLC developers on board. Downpour introduced so much into the story and contextualized many elements from the original game, at the same time largely expanding The Experience.

In conclusion, I would like to say that the game might not be everyone's cup of tea, This review is purely subjective and comes from heart. But if you find other reviews to your liking and looking for something hard, stylish, alive and thoughtful - you just might be in luck.
