A fresh, authentic and kind game that is 110% worth your time. It feels so much like you're really participating in an online community and a lovely ongoing story that you don't even think about suspending disbelief, you just keep going and going, and interacting... and it's just a great experience! Sometimes it moves on without you being able to see all the content, but it's not a big deal.

VIDEOVERSE isn't flashy, fourth-wall shattering, or ripe for memes, but it might sincerely be the best game in the genre at depicting us. It's my new favorite.

An outstanding RPG with great skill expression and permadeath, ratcheting up the intensity of its gameplay and storytelling. It was very successful at pulling this off. I also loved the characters and their gender diversity.

It's billed as a prologue to a much fuller experience, and you can tell there's definitely room for more story and challenge. For example, it's pretty easy to speedrun the game without seeing all the encounters. A great ending puts a huge exclamation point on the whole game, and I'll definitely be buying the sequel, In Stars and Time.
