Since the epic requirement to play online has now been made optional its time to update my review.

Game is genuinely good, peak EDF, but only if you can stomach how heavily it relies on reused assets from the previous entry however that does allow it to bolster the mission count even higher than in 5.

The balance is overall a step up from 5 but the changes to air raider in particular has been quite divisive among fans, personally i think this change was a net positive if you can get into the new playstyle.

Enemy variety and the new enemies is quite good and the style of engagements make the game feel quite different from 5 too. Sadly the tradition of an absolutely terrible final mission remains, pretty much as awful as in 4 so brace yourself for that.

However...Game is not without its problems. Some of the missions are too directly taken from 5 and it makes some of the early segments feel like an absolute slog. The multiplayer works as expected but this time the desync issues has gotten much much worse and at times results in friendly fire accidents on allies that are not even supposed to be where you are firing at.

They should also have added some QoL changes to the looting, i would have liked a countdown timer after the mission ends to collect boxes, similar to iron rain, because i think the scramble to collect boxes and pick the right moments to collect is a positive aspect of the game.

The senseless nerfing has mostly been reverted and weapon picks has become much more interesting as a result, the game seems to have taken a turn for the better and i welcome it with open arms.
