For context, ive played a hundred or so hours pre steam launch.

The bazaar is one of the most interesting card games ive ever played. It also has an insane learning curve, lots of hidden mechanics, incredibly unpredictable power creep and is mismanaged despite the developers best intentions.

As a FROM and a roguelike player, this game is a solid do not recommend.

Poor map and event variety. Solos and Trios are brutally difficult for totally different reasons and unapproachable. If you want to play this game purely to get into the FROM games you will learn the wrong habits and get your ass beaten into oblivion.

The design of the game actively discourages you from exploring and find what variety there is, and the difficulty can be summarised as "What if made every major boss fight a clown car of 3 bosses who will fill your screen with garbage".

I'm trying to understand who this game is for, and the best I can come up with is this game is a dream for speedrunners and challenge mode FROM players. At the same time, this very select audience will destroy this game and all it has to offer quickly and go back to the main games.

Short and sweet, an excellent story driven character experience. Strong recommend if you enjoy CRPG style story and dialogue especially if you enjoy tabletop games.

A must play

The best non-FROM Souls game. Excellent boss fight and combat design and interesting premise.

It does not match Dark Souls 1 or even the more linear FROM games in terms of level exploration or design, but it does enough to feel like a must play if you enjoy FROMSoftware's Souls games.
