I have played a lot of these types of games, and even though the game is beautiful, the premise is enticing, and the music sets a nice mood, the overall gameplay felt incredibly dull. This game did not give me any sense of accomplishment by progressing through its technology tiers, and that's all these types of games really have going for them imo.

I admit I really didn't get too far into the game, and I also admit that this review is entirely biased towards what I look for in building/management games, so take it with a grain of salt. I do feel however that experienced base building/management gamers will come to a similar conclusion.

Early Access Review
Despite the incredibly long development time, the constant bugs, and the lack of some much desired community features, the game is a lot of fun. It isn't abandoned, which is already a lot better than a lot of steam early access titles.

A lot of fun can be had with what's already in the game, and mods can temporarily fill in the holes.

This game scratches the building/management itch, although barely. After playing for close to 40 hours, I can safely say I got my money's worth out of it (got it in a bundle on HumbleBundle), but I definitely would not recommend purchasing it for full price (60$ at the time of writing).

I played a Challenge scenario right from the start at the hardest difficulty, and it was challenging keeping my income higher than my expenses at first, but this challenge dropped rather quickly once the mechanics are understood. The only way to keep having fun at this point is to enjoy creating scenery and roller coasters.
